Manager Chris Hughton has hinted he was considering including new defensive additions centre-back Sebastien Bassong and left-back Javier Garrido in his side, as he looks to ensure the Canaries improve at the back after conceding five against Fulham.
The Canaries are still without David Fox (knee) and Elliott Ward (thigh), while summer signings Jacob Butterfield and Steven Whittaker are still lacking match fitness and will not feature.
QPR have also been in the market for defenders, but centre-backs Anton Ferdinand and Clint Hill could retain their places, with attempted moves for Ricardo Carvalho and Michael Dawson unlikely to be completed in time for the game.
Right-back Jose Bosingwa joined the club just this week, after a summer without training while Armand Traore is still recovering from an ankle injury, so full-backs Nedum Onuoha and Fabio are set to continue.
Alejandro Faurlin (knee) is still returning to full fitness and Joey Barton misses the second game of his 12-match suspension.

- Both Norwich and QPR suffered humiliating 5-0 defeats on the opening day of the season to Fulham away and Swansea at home respectively.
- The Canaries conceded 30 goals in 19 home league matches last season, more than all but the three relegated clubs, and kept just three clean sheets at Carrow Road last season. The side made up by scoring 52 goals in total, more than all but the top six.
- The East Anglian side defeated QPR 2-1 in each of their fixtures last season, after the two won automatic promotion to the Premier League together.

- Chris Hughton was appointed the club’s manager following the departure of Paul Lambert to Aston Villa. Hughton has previously managed in the Premier League with Newcastle.
- The Hoops narrowly avoided relegation in their final match last season, finishing one point above the drop zone in 17th place, after manager Mark Hughes had replaced Neil Warnock mid-way through January.
- Hughes has made many high-profile signings since then, which this summer included goalkeeper Rob Green, full back Fabio, midfielder Park Ji-Sung and forwards Junior Hoilett and Andy Johnson.
- Rangers lost 14 of their 19 Premier League away games last season, last winning away at Stoke in November last year. The west London side conceded 41 goals on their travels, with only relegated Blackburn conceding more.
- Striker Djibril Cisse (pictured), signed from Lazio in the January transfer window, has scored in four of his last five Premier League away games.

The giant centre back impressed on winning promotion to the Premier League with Hull City and earned a move to Sunderland, but he suffered a string of injuries in the last two seasons and under Martin O’Neill his time at the club came to an end as he was sold to Norwich.
His competitive debut for the Canaries last week at Fulham ended in a disastrous 5-0 defeat, and he will hope to play a part in keeping his new club solid at the back in their first home game of the season.

The experienced defender won both the Players' & Supporters' Player of the Year awards at QPR last season, but last week saw his side lose 5-0 at home as he and centre-back partner Anton Ferdinand struggled to contain Swansea’s counter attacks.
The 33-year-old needs to put in a strong performance as the side face their first away game of the season, as he will see his place come under intense competition should the club land one or more of their remaining defensive targets.

Each side suffered a heavy defeat last weekend, but while Mark Hughes has brought in several reinforcements over the summer, the Canaries are still adjusting to the departure of their inspirational manager.
The Hoops therefore have a good chance of recording some points at Carrow Road despite their poor away record, with both teams struggling to regain confidence after last week's results.
