8′ (OG) Kornel Salata

Routine stuff from the Netherlands in the end with a 2-0 win over Slovakia putting an end to some less than satisfactory results. An early own goal by Kornel Salata and a nifty clincher from Van der Vaart in the second half has given the Dutch victory, after two straight losses to Bulgaria and Bayern Munich. Not a vintage performance by any stretch, and Van Marwijk is still left with plenty to think about, with only a friendly against Northern Ireland left before Euro 2012 kicks off. Thanks for joining us at Goal.com!

90′ +1
That's it!

90′
Only a single minute of added time to bring us over the finish line.

89′
Silky control by Van der Vaart to kill a pass in the middle, but no one, it seems, has any interest in running ahead of him to spark the Dutch forward. Job done, for all intents and purposes.

87′
And as I say that, Van der Vaart makes a run IN BEHIND the Slovakia defence, but Kuyt can't quite pick him out with his pass.

85′
The constant influx of substitutions has really disrupted the last few minutes. The Netherlands are still dominating possession, but they don't seem to have any intent to get in behind Slovakia.

84′
Substitution Arjen Robben Luciano Narsingh

82′
Slovakia make a rare foray forward now. Kona, from the left-hand byline, cuts it back for Holosko, who, on the edge of the area, strikes it first time, only to see his shot go wide of the target.

81′
Substitution Miroslav Stoch Kamil Kopunek

80′
Substitution Ibrahim Afellay Dirk Kuyt

80′
Dirk Kuyt comes on for Ibrahim Afellay, and the former Feyenoord man gets a huge ovation on his homecoming

78′
Substitution Marek Bakos Filip Hološko

78′
And still the Dutch come forward. Arjen Robben skips past Svento down the right-hand side, and puts a cross in towards Huntelaar. The Schalke man can't quite get the ball down, and Cech clears.

76′
Substitution Marek Cech L. Guldan

75′
Assist Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

75′
Goal Rafael van der Vaart
GOOAALL! And finally the Dutch have made it 2-0! Huntelaar, inside the box, lays it back to Van der Vaart, who strikes it with his second touch into the bottom left-hand corner of the net. Game over.

75′
AHHHHH! How have the Dutch not scored? A cross from the right-hand byline by Van der Wiel goes all the way across the six yard box, to Afellay at the far post. He touches it at goal, but the ball goes into the arms of Jan Mucha when it looked easier to score.

72′
WOOOFFF! Van der Vaart takes the free kick himself, and his shot fires back off the crossbar!

71′
The Dutch have come back to life all of a sudden, as Van der Vaart is fouled on the edge of the area by Cech.

70′
Yellow Card Miroslav Stoch

70′
It's Afellay again for the Dutch. This time, he attacks through the middle, and goes for a shot at goal from 25 yards. He perhaps should lay in Huntelaar, but the Barca man goes for it, and the effort is blocked.

68′
Substitution Robin van Persie Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

68′
Ibrahim Afellay really has been the only bright spark for the Netherlands tonight. That time, he did a Cruyff turn past Pekarik on the right-hand side, and then smashes a low cross into the box. Van Persie was nowhere to been seen however, and Cech cleared the danger.

66′
Van der Vaart looks ok though, as he lays in Robben down the right-hand side. The Bayern man takes on Hubocan, but Cech comes across to double up, and muscle him out of possession.

65′
There must be something Kornel Salata doesn't like about Dutch playmakers. Not content with injuring Wesley Sneijder, he has just put a reducer on Rafael van der Vaart, leaving him clutching his right leg, in a heap, on the floor.

63′
Bakos has it for Slovakia now. On the left-hand touchline, he tries to skip past Heitinga, but the Evertone defender just concentrates on the ball, and smashes it out of play for a throw in.

61′
You can hear some of the fans becoming impatient with the Dutch side now. Some forced 'Hollywood' balls have gone astray, and the Rotterdam public don't like it one bit.

59′
Van Persie has it for the Netherlands now, on the right-hand touchline. He plays a cute ball down the line for Robben, but the Bayern man is adjudged to have been offside.

57′
The corner is whipped in from the left by Van Persie, but Salata is positioned well, and heads away the danger.

56′
It's a Dutch corner now, after some great work from Van Persie and Afellay. The Barcelona wide man played a one-two with the former Feyenoord forward, and then crossed from wide, only to see the ball deflected out by Hubocan.

55′
The Dutch are having an extended passage of play right now. The midfield three of Van der Vaart, Van Bommel and De Jong are just keeping it in a triangle, and the Slovakians seem happy for them to pass themselves into a coma.

53′
Some more good wing play from Slovakia there. Hamsik, on the left, cuts inside, and then plays a reverse pass to Hubocan back on the touchline. The pass though, is a tad overhit and the Zenit man can't quite keep the ball in play.

51′
Substitution Wesley Sneijder Rafael van der Vaart

51′
You didn't keep your fingers crossed hard enough Holland fans! Sneijder comes off and is replced by Rafael Van der Vaart.

50′
Good work down the right from Pekarik. He makes a brilliant over-lapping run, and gets a cross in from the byline towards Bakos. Stekelenburg comes out well though, and punches the ball clear.

49′
Sneijder goes down inside the centre circle after a hefty challenge from Salata. And he's limping off! Keep your fingers firmly crossed Dutch fans.

47′
Pekarik has the ball for Slovakia almost instantly after the kick off. He tries to play a long ball down the line, but Schaars is in position to just head it back to the substitute Vlaar.

46′
Substitution Karim Guédé Tomáš Kóňa

46′
Substitution Wilfred Bouma Ron Vlaar

46′
Substitution Michal Breznaník Roman Prochazka

46′
And we're back. The Dutch get us underway, kicking from right-to-left in their changed all-black stirp, with orange trim.

The Netherlands Under-17's have just finished their lap of honour, after winning their respective European Championships. Will the senior team do the same later next month?

And that's it. The referee blows his whistle, and we go into the break here in Rotterdam: Netherlands 1-0 Slovakia. I'll be back in 15 minutes for the second half, but in the meantime do tweet me @goal_intl.

45′ +1
Yellow Card Karim Guédé

45′
OHHHHH! That should be 1-1! Right on the stroke of half time, Bakos was through on goal, and managed to fire his shot , from the edge of the area, wide of the left-hand post.

45′
The Dutch come forward immediately, and win a corner on the right. It's played by Robben, and goes all the way through to Sneijder at the far post. The Inter man takes a touch, and tries to curl it back at goal, but the shot goes wide of the far post.

44′
The corner is played in from the left towards the six yard box. Hamsik tries to poke the ball at goal, but it goes over the bar.

43′
COORRR! Nearly an equaliser! Svento charges forward for the first time from midfield. From about 40 yards, on the left-hand touchline, he tries a deep cross, that just keeps on going towards Stekelenburg's goal. It's dipping into the far corner, but the Roma keeper manages to claw it away for a corner.

42′
It's Sneijder now for the Dutch. 35 yards from goal, he tries to slip a pass through to Van Persie, but the Arsenal forward is offside.

41′
Ibrahim Afellay has had a difficult first season at Barcelona, but he's been Holland's best player tonight. This time, he cuts in from the left, nutmegs Guede, and fires a shot from 35 yards. The effort goes just wide of the left-hand post, but it certainly wasn't far away.

39′
Cech saunters forward now for the Slovaks. He comes over the halfway line with the ball, but Robben charges back, and comes away with possession. And the crowd really show their appreciation to a player not exactly known for his defensive qualities.

37′
Some nice, direct running again from Robben there. This time, he cuts in from the right, before attempting a one-two with Van Persie on the edge of the area. The Arsenal forward though, can't quite return the favour and Cech clears with a hoof.

35′
Robben attacks down the right now. He twists Hubocan this way, then the next, before winning a corner off of the Zenit man. Sneijder whips it in towards the near post, but Salata heads clear.

33′
It's Guede for Slovakia now. Inside the centre circle, he gets an absolute clatering from Van Bommel, and the Repre win a free kick. It's played early up to Bakos, but he can't quiye control the high ball, and the ball goes out for a throw in.

31′
This game has become a tad disjointed. After that brilliant early start from the Dutch, they've taken their eye off the ball, quite literally, far too many times for my liking.

29′
WOOFFF! The Dutch lose possession on the halfway line, and Marek Hamsik counters for Slovakia. He slips in Stoch down the right-hand side, and the Fenerbache man strikes one from the tightest of angles, right at goal. It's a superb effort, and hits the outside of the post. Unlucky.

28′
STOCH SMASHES IT.... and it hits the side-netting. That is absolutely criminal.

27′
OH, that is poor. Stekelenburg picks up a backpass from Van der Wiel, and Slovakia win a free kick on the left-hand side of the six yard box.

25′
A pass from Bouma towards Van Persie is cut out by Guede, and Slovakia attempt a couner-attack. The Freiburg midfielder tries to release Bako early, but the Plzen forward is offside. The centre forward has to be cleverer with his runs if he's to disjoint this Dutch defence.

23′
It's Breznanik now for Slovakia. On the left-hand side of the Dutch area, he takes a touch, gets past Van der Wiel, and puts a low cross in towards Bakos. Stekelenburg comes out though, and collects well.

21′
Van Bommel has it now, 30 yards from goal. He looks up and decides to have a go. And you won't be surprised when I tell you It's absolutely terrible.

19′
It's Slovakia with their first piece of prolonged possession now. Guede, inside the centre circle, plays it out wide on the left to Breznanik, and the Slovan Liberec midfielder decides to play it back to Marek Cech at centre back. The Dutch are compressing the midfield very well here.

17′
More brilliance from the Dutch! Van Persie, on the left-hand side of the Slovakia area, slids it through Cech's legs, and gives it to Afellay. The former PSV forward then opens up his body, and shoots at goal. The effort though, is a tame one and Mucha gets down to save well.

16′
AHHH, Afellay does well there. On the halfway line, with his back to the Slovakia goal, he takes a touch, and flicks it over his and Pekarik's head, before spinning the other side, and continuing with the ball. The Kayserispor defender has other ideas though, and pulls back the Barcelona man.

14′
And it's Robben again attacking down the right. But he's been given offside as he enters the 18 yard box.

13′
Just a quick check-up: Bouma and Heitinga seem to be ok after their early clash of heads.

12′
OHHH! And that definitely should be 2-0! Van Persie, on the left-hand side of the area, pushes the ball past Pekarik and smashes a shot at goal. The effort though, goes well over, and the Arsenal man will be disappointed with that.

10′
And now Robben has a chance to make it two! He tries to chase a through ball from Van Bommel down, but the pass is slightly too long, and Mucha comes out to collect.

8′
Assist Ibrahim Afellay

8′
Own Goal Kornel Salata
GOALL! And it's the Netherlands who take the lead! Afellay teases Pekarik on the left-hand side of the area, smashes a ball across the box, and Salata inadvertantly touches it into his own net. 1-0.

7′
I must say, the atmosphere here tonight is marvellous. The stadium is just a sea of orange.

6′
Slovakia have started incredibly well here, as Hamsik goes darting through on goal. At 25 yards out though, he takes a heavy touch, and Van der Wiel gets back to clear.

5′
Both centre backs come back on, with Netherlands on the counter. Robben attacks down the right, and wins a corner. It's played in by Sneijder towards De Jong at the far post, but the Manchester City man can't direct his header on target.

3′
As they both go off the pitch, Slovakia have a corner, with the Netherlands defending with only nine men. It's whipped in by Pekarik, and Hamsik gets up to head from 12 yards on to the bar. A great early chance.

2′
They're receiving treatment, with Bouma looking incredibly dazed sat on the floor. Heitinga meanwhile, has walked off.

2′
A long ball from Pekarik is played up towards Bakos, but Heitinga and Bouma clash, and both of them go down clutching their heads. This does not look good.

1′
Here we go then. Slovakia will get us underway, kicking from left-to-right in their all-white kit with blue trim.

Kick off is literally moments away here at De Kuip. Do not move a muscle.

Just over 15 minutes to go until kick off here in Rotterdam, and the atmosphere inside the stadium is already building up nicely.

Slovakia (4-4-1-1): Mucha; Pekarik, Cech, Salata, Hubocan; Svento, Guede, Stoch, Breznanik; Hamsik; Bakos.

Netherlands (4-2-3-1): Stekelenburg; Van der Wiel, Heitinga, Bouma, Schaars; Van Bommel, De Jong; Robben, Sneijder, Afellay; Van Persie.

As always, if you have any comments on tonight's game, do let me know @goal_intl on Twitter.

Slovakia meanwhile, lost their last match 1-0 to Poland on Saturday. Coach Michal Hipp has chosen a relatively young squad for this friendly, with Besiktas forward Filip Holosko the most-capped Slovakian with 55 caps. For the Netherlands meanwhile, Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder will equal Ruud Krol's appearance total with 83 caps, if he plays tonight.

This is only the second time these two nations have met; the first coming in the 2010 World Cup, where strikes from Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder completed a 2-1 last 16 win. Recently though, the Dutch have been through a bit off a tough time, losing to Bayern Munich and Bulgaria in recent weeks ahead of Euro 2012.
