Both Southampton and Millwall are expected to make minimal changes as Nigel Adkins and Kenny Jackett are keen to balance success in the cup along with the league.

Saints, who are holding on the second spot in the Championship and have two promotions in a row in their grasp, will be forced to replace defender Daniel Fox, who received a red card in their last league outing against Birmingham.

Southampton boss Nigel Adkins confirmed Richard Chaplow and Tadanari Lee will start for his side.

New signing Billy Sharp, who arrived from Doncaster Rovers last month, is ineligible, while Tottenham loanee Iago Falque is cup-tied.

Millwall, who face a different struggle in just staying in the league, may well remain unchanged from their derby defeat at the hands of West Ham at Upton Park.

DID YOU KNOW?
  • Both of these sides have reached FA Cup finals in recent years, with Southampton losing out to Arsenal in the 2003 final and Millwall following suit 12 months later against Manchester United.
  • Southampton have previously won the cup causing one of the biggest shocks ever in the 1976 final. In the Second Division at the time, Saints won the trophy through a Bobby Stokes goal which consigned Tommy Docherty's Manchester United to defeat.
  • This game features two of the Championship's top three goalscorers with Rickie Lambert (pictured right) having notched 16 times for Saints and Darius Henderson having hit 12 for the Lions.
  • Millwall needed a replay to get through the previous round as they drew 0-0 with Dagenham and Redbridge in the third round, only to smash the Daggers 5-0 in the replay.
  • Southampton’s form of late has been very patchy with only single victory in the last six games.
  • Millwall’s form is even worse with five losses in their last six meaning both sides are yearning for a return to winning ways.
  • When these two met in the league back in August, Southampton were victorious 1-0 at St Mary’s

Southampton’s main goal threat is always a focus of opponents and this game will be no different. The former Bristol Rovers man has been a crucial element to the Saints’ rise from League One to the automatic promotion places in the Championship and his 21 league goals are an indication of this. Home fans will be pinning their hopes on him to fire his side into the fifth round.

Trotter has played more games this year for Millwall than anyone else and, as a key player in the midfield, he will be required to control the game as much as possible if the visitors are to triumph in this one. He is currently in his third spell with the Lions after playing on loan on two separate occasions in Bermondsey.
Prediction
If both side's league form is to carry over into the FA Cup, you would expect Southampton to come out on top.

However, that it is a cup game will provide plenty of hope for Kenny Jackett's men and could be a welcome distraction from their Championship woes.

Despite the chance of a shock, Southampton's home form is likely to see them edge it.
