Andrew Surman is the standout for the Canaries, his opportunist's goal the highlight of a good showing, with Grant Holt and Simeon Jackson enjoying mixed afternoons
By George Ankers at Carrow Road
Tested in the early stages but largely came through and proved an able deputy for first-choice John Ruddy.
Bombed up the left flank on occasion, notably providing the cross for Simeon Jackson’s first-half strike on one such raid.
Praised by manager Paul Lambert in the programme notes for his recent return to the team, the Spaniard made one fantastic challenge in particular to thwart Charlie Austin in the box.
Most of Burnley's attacks came down the right so the vice-captain did not have too much to do.
A strong figure at centre-half and generally formed a solid partnership with Ayala, especially as the game wore on. Had an injury scare late on but played on.
Nominally on the right of midfield but often found himself tucking in and redeploying to suit the movements of Hoolahan. His shot was handballed for Holt's missed penalty but his personal contributions were unspectacular.
A very impressive showing from the left midfielder, displaying excellent anticipation throughout to intercept balls in the final third and create chances. Nearly combined with Holt in such a situation in the first-half before pouncing on space in the hour to slot home a fine third.
Mostly solid in the deep-lying base of the midfield diamond and occasionally got forward to try a shot from range. A decent afternoon's work.
Showed some thrilling flashes of skill as he looked a cut above many others around him. Unlucky not to score when Grant saved from him in the first of a triple chance. A classy performance from the Irishman before his substitution with 15 minutes left.
Put away a bread-and-butter header after six minutes for his eighth goal of the season, but missed a penalty for the first time since 2008 when he could have put the game potentially out of reach. Came off after 70 minutes after a strangely mixed game.
Continued his good form since being handed a first-team opportunity with a solid header to extend the Canaries’ early advantage. Less involved in build-up play than Holt, as you would expect, but the poacher should have put away a simple finish on 55 minutes. Maybe a little fortuitous in assisting Surman's goal but it would not have happened if not for his tussling with Amougou. Replaced with 20 minutes to go.
Replaced Hoolahan late on but the game's momentum had died and he had no influence on the match.
Forced a save just after his introduction that teed up Morison but should have done more with a header from Fox's free-kick on a rare chance to impress Paul Lambert.
Showed his usual physical strength after coming on and made no mistake in dispatching a simple chance for the fourth goal.
The odd excellent save from the Clarets custodian and generally could not be blamed for the frequency with which Norwich were allowed chances.
One or two sterling headers under pressure from crosses and fared fairly evenly in his battles against Simeon Jackson, though failed to assert himself at the crucial moment when Surman found room for the third. Replaced on 75 minutes.
Crofts never got forward too much to disturb him and, when called upon by a drifting Jackson or Hoolahan, did not disgrace himself.
Made a notably excellent block in the second half but the game was already gone. The Norwich strikers all asserted themselves fairly well and Mee failed to ever tie down Holt particularly well.
Adam Drury got past him for Jackson's goal and he should have been more alert to the lurking Surman in the build-up to the third Norwich strike.
Never made much of an impact on proceedings in the centre of the midfield three, with Hoolahan bypassing him for much of the game.
Determined in the early stages but much like the rest of his side, faded badly as things went on.
Delivered a top-quality free-kick for Rodriguez to head in and generally looked to create when the got the ball. Involved in a comedy moment when he came together awkwardly with Mee and required treatment, and subbed as a result.
Unclear how harsh the handball call against him for the penalty was but he failed to really fire in the Norwich area, most noticeably foiled by Daniel Ayala. Came off with 20 minutes to go.
Put away a fine header having jumped well for Wallace's free-kick but was otherwise fairly anonymous.
Drifted a little on the right flank at times as Eddie Howe tried to manage three strikers and occasionally put in a useful ball.
Came on for Wallace with most of the second half to go but was quiet enough that you would have been forgiven for not noticing his presence.
A late replacement for Amougou who failed to contribute anything of note.
Replaced Austin and represented a big hope to the Clarets but the former West Ham youngster had no impact.
