Arshavin and Park cancel out Muamba's second-half opener as Arsene Wenger's side continue resurgence to progess to the fifth round of the League Cup over the Trotters

    Lukasz Fabianski

Solid enough performance in goal from the reserve keeper. He saved well from Pratley midway through the second half, before making an even better stop minutes later, getting down low to smother Kakuta’s effort from the right-hand side. Did look shaky when spilling Eagles long-range shot.

  • Thomas Vermaelen

    Thomas Vermaelen

Promising return for the Belgian as captain that will provide Arsene Wenger with a much needed defensive headache after their latest series of injuries. Never really threatened by Klasnic, and almost grabbed a goal from his 30-yard drive after an Arshavin lay-off. Replaced by Boateng.

  • Sébastien Squillaci

    Sébastien Squillaci

Wasn’t found out but did look a tad off the pace in his return to the starting XI, fouling Pratley early on after the midfielder easily beat him to the ball.

  • Miquel

    Miquel

The Spaniard rose well early on to meet Arshavin’s corner but was less impressive defensively. Was caused repeated problems by Kakuta, with Frimpong and Squillaci twice providing cover after the reserve team captain was beaten.

  • Nicholas Yennaris

    Nicholas Yennaris

Decent showing from the youngster, stood up well to Tuncay and wasn’t afraid to get forward down the flank, often providing an overlapping outlet. Could have done better to prevent Pratley teeing up Muamba for Bolton’s opener.

  • Emmanuel Frimpong

    2.50

    Emmanuel Frimpong

Was caught out with his back to goal in the build-up to the Bolton opener, being easily dispossessed by goalscorer Muamba in the middle of the park. Replaced by Ozyakup.

  • Francis Coquelin

    Francis Coquelin

After a promising start to his first-team career at the Emirates, the 20-year-old Frenchman was largely bypassed in the middle of the park.

  • Yossi Benayoun

    Yossi Benayoun

Showed great skill when skipping past Steinsson in the first half before curling towards goal, and proved a fluid threat in the middle, moving across the park well to link up the Gunners’ play.

  • Andrey Arshavin

Andrey Arshavin Top of the Match

Had a promising start but the Russian became sloppy towards the end of the first half. Rediscovered his vigour in the second however, grabbing the equaliser before teeing up Park as Arsenal quickly turned the tables on their opponents to take the lead.

  • Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

A bright start from the 18-year-old as he twice had opportunities to open the scoring but showed indecision in both cases. Gradually became sloppy in possession, particularly against the strength of Pratley, and was replaced by Ryo as he tired.

  • Chu-Young Park
    229
    38

    Chu-Young Park

Poor showing initially from the South Korean, who found himself offside far too much and was forced to drop deep due to the physical dominance of the Bolton backline. After two tame efforts there was no mistake with the third however, curling well round Bogdan to give Arsenal a 2-1 lead.

    Ryo Miyaichi

Replaced Oxlade-Chamberlain with 15 minutes remaining and looked lively going forward before making a vital intervention minutes from time to prevent Cahill in the box.

    Oğuzhan Özyakup

Replaced Frimpong and had no real time to make an impact.

  • Adam Bogdan

    Adam Bogdan

Solid first-half display from the Hungarian who looked to overcome his horror show against Chelsea earlier this month. Twice he was on hand to thwart Park’s efforts from distance whilst also standing tall to Vermaelen’s driven free-kick, and was unaccountable for either Arsenal goal.

  • Gretar Steinsson

    16

    Gretar Steinsson

The right-back was turned inside out by Yossi Benayoun in the first half. Was nowhere to be seen as Park was given acres of space on the left-hand side to time his effort and grab the home side’s second goal.

  • Gary Cahill
    7
    14
    2.50

    Gary Cahill

Recovered from his early slip under pressure from Arshavin to dominate aerially against Arsenal’s albeit small forward line. Perhaps allowed too much play in front of the box as the Gunner’s peppered the Bolton goalmouth with shots from distance, and was also guilty of allowing Arshavin too much space to run in the build-up to Park’s goal.

  • Zat Knight

    Zat Knight

Also forced into an early error by Arshavin, and whilst showing his physical qualities, he was troubled at times by the pace of Oxlade-Chamberlain. Often allowed the Arsenal forward line too much space to run in to, something which Arshavin punished him for with the equaliser.

  • Ricardo Gardner
    5
    12
    2.50

    Ricardo Gardner

Struggled at times with Oxlade-Chamberlain down the right-hand side, and also allowed Benayoun too much space to find Arshavin in the build up to Arsenal’s equaliser.

  • Mark Davies
    5
    10
    2.50

    Mark Davies

Quiet game in the middle of the park from Davies, whose role as a bystander was showcased no more than in the build-up to the equaliser, failing to intervene as Arshavin ran towards goal unchallenged.

  • Darren Pratley
    6
    12
    3.00

    Darren Pratley

A lively and strong performance from the former Swansea City player, may have been outpaced by Oxlade-Chamberlain but never outmuscled, dispossessing the youngster well in the first half before unleashing a driven effort at Fabianski. Replaced by N’Gog.

  • Fabrice Muamba
    7
    13
    3.00

    Fabrice Muamba

Wasn’t afraid to get amongst the Arsenal midfield, something which paid dividends early in the second half as he dispossessed Frimpong before finishing off a one-two with Pratley to give Bolton the lead.

  • Tuncay Şanlı
    6
    14
    2.50

    Tuncay Şanlı

Non-plus display from the Turk, who can threaten at times but also disenchant seconds later. Failed to take advantage of youngster Yennaris at right-back in what should have been a targeted weak spot for Bolton.

  • Gäel Kakuta
    15
    13
    3.00

    Gäel Kakuta

The Chelsea loanee started the evening quietly but soon begun to find his rhythm, proving problematic for Miquel down the right-hand side. Replaced by Chris Eagles shortly after seeing his free-kick saved by Fabianksi.

  • Ivan Klasnic
    19
    13

Ivan Klasnic Flop of the Match

A laboured performance from the Croatian who rarely provided an outlet or an option up front, twice squandering good opportunities to draw the scores level.

Substitutions

  • Chris Eagles

    Chris Eagles

Replaced Kakuta with 20 minutes remaining, and tested Fabianski with a well hit shot from 25 yards.
