Fraser Forster is the hero for Celtic, but Neil Lennon's side bow out of Europe as Antonio Di Natale cancels out a Gary Hooper strike to claim a vital point
By Matthew Harold
Saw little of the ball even though Celtic got forward a lot, but they never really put the Slovenian international under any pressure as he wasn’t forced to make many saves and also received some luck, especially with the Cha effort that came off the post and his back.
Was the worst of the Udinese defence as he failed to deal with Hooper at times and also made some unnecessary challenges in the middle of the park.
Pushed forward a lot in the first half, but went further back after Isla came on at half time and went into a more defensive role.
Did well on the right of the back three, although he had trouble dealing with Samaras anytime the Greek went wide.
Looked composed on the left side of defence, as he looked to help Armero break out on the left wing.
Pushed forward on the left hand side throughout the game, but was made to track back and defend by the pace of Forrest.
Looked good early on as he provided support for his fellow midfielders, but unfortunately got injured midway through the first half and was replaced by Pinzi.
Offered little for Udinese in the first half and ultimately found himself replaced by Isla at the break.
Superb going forward for Udinese and offered support to Di Natale as well as having a few efforts of his own.
Was unlucky to see a chance hit off the Celtic post, powered forward throughout and created panic in the visitors box at times.
Was wasteful with many of his efforts and also when he got the ball on target found Forster in world class form.
Came on at half time and added the vital spark that Udinese required.
Replaced Badu and offered support in the Udinese midfield.
Was the star man for the Hoops as he made countless saves in the second half which saved Celtic from going behind and had the Udinese side and Di Natale in particular searching for answers.
Didn’t look comfortable with Di Natale playing on his shoulder and offered little to the attack from set plays.
Looked extremely poor at times with his passing, but was unlucky to see his header go into the path of Di Natale on the stroke of half time, but nearly made up for it with a strike which hit off the Udinese post with quarter of an hour left.
Done well defensively, but didn’t do enough with the set pieces he had as he failed to trouble the Udinese goal.
The Celtic skipper offered his usual bite in midfield as he didn’t shriek out of any tackles and continually looked to bomb forward to help Hooper up front.
Was everywhere for Neil Lennon’s side as he offered help to his defence, especially when the Udinese full backs looked to get forward.
Didn’t show the same form as he had done for the Hoops last season, not getting forward as much as he would normally do and failing to cut out Udinese attacks at times. Replaced by Stokes.
Becoming a regular in the Celtic side and showed why with some superb wing play which forced the Udinese wing back Armero to defend more than he would have wanted.
The Kenyan was forced into playing centre back with Loovens out and attempted to keep a high line which managed to snuff the threat of Di Natale at times, but failed when the striker scored on the stroke of half time.
Should have scored early on after being put in by Samaras, but made up for that when the ball broke to him from a yard out, had a couple of other efforts but couldn’t find the goal that would have put his side through.
Was at the centre of everything that was good for Celtic, as he helped provide the opening goal for Hooper and was a thorn in the side of the Udinese backline in the first half, but the Greek striker left out of the game in the second half and was replaced by Bangura late on.
Came on for Kayal but didn't offer enough for Celtic going forward.
Replaced Samaras late on.
