Player Ratings: Fulham 2-2 OB Odense
After dominating the opening 45 minutes and looking to be cruising into the next round, the hosts crash out to a last minute equaliser from the Danish visitors
By Joe Doyle at Craven Cottage
The 21-year-old had big shoes to fill with Mark Schwarzer dropping out through injury. He caused the fans one nervy moment early on, but kept calm as he turned an onrushing Odense striker. Made a good claim from a corner to really get the crowd behind him and a good stop from Ruud early in the second half. Didn't quite get his angles right for the wall as Odense got a goal back, but a good performance overall from the young 'keeper.
Got forward well and dominated his battles down his flank. A solid performance from the right-back.
Played well further up the pitch than normal, shielding the back four while Gecov marauded higher up the field. Perhaps could have done better as he gave away the free-kick that led to Odense's goal.
Was as dominant as ever in the air, almost grabbing a goal in the opening five minutes. He was also confident with the ball at his feet, striding forward a few times with purpose.
Had a fairly quiet game but defended solidly and cleared the ball well, which is what you really want from your central defenders.
Excelled at left-back, playing almost as much in an attacking role as in defence, as is the modern trend. Put in some crunching tackles that the Fulham faithful appreciated, and got forward well despite the odd lapse in control.
Controlled the centre of midfield in the opening stages, allied with Chris Baird playing a much more defensive role. Some sharp passing and quick feet got him out of trouble.
A very impressive first half for the 18-year-old. He controlled the ball well and beat his markers time and again, leading directly to the first goal before timing his run to perfection and finishing coolly to double the hosts' lead.
A decent performance from the American. He took his finish well but failed to get involved in the second half.
Some great hold-up play from the striker, who laid it off nicely to Dempsey for the opening goal. Was isolated in the second half as Fulham dropped deeper, but offered an effective outlet.
Another classy performance from the Belgian player, who played a large part in the second goal, and went on a nice run immediately after the restart.
Replaced Dempsey with a little under 20 minutes to play, but didn't get too much time on the ball. Hassled well and put in some good yards.
Came on late to replace the tiring Zamora.
Made some good stops early in the game, but could do nothing about the goals. Made some more saves in the second half that helped the team gain a draw.
Got back well to clear a shot from Dempsey that had beaten the 'keeper. Was beaten a little easily by Frei for the opening goal but did well for much of the game and forced a good save from Etheridge. Put in a great cross for the equaliser.
Couldn't cope with the strength of Zamora for long periods, but did well in the second half.
Defended fairly well but didn't deal well with the ball over the top.
Got down the left well but struggled to deal with Dembele for long periods.
Played a solid game in the second half but struggled to cope with the pace and movement of Fulham's midfield in the first.
His free-kick got them back into the game and his drive from midfield for the equaliser was key.
Stopped a certain goal with his block on the line in the 15th minute.
Was anonymous in the first half with Fulham dominating but grew as the game progressed, much the same as the rest of his team.
Didn't play particularly well in the first half but his distribution was good enough to start moves for his team.
Did well to harry the Fulham defence but didn't offer much in the way of creativity.
Came on with 20 minutes to go but didn't offer much.
A fairly quiet cameo for the Manchester United 'legend'.
Came on to grab the equaliser with the last touch of the game. Didn't offer much but you can't argue with his finishing.
