The French side overturned a seven-goal deficit to reach the last 16 as Bafetimbi Gomis hit four, including an eight-minute hat-trick
By Roger Gonzalez
The Croatia Under-21 keeper was blasted by the second-half blitz, failing to come out well to push away crosses, but can't be blamed for all of the goals. In the end, the result does not lie.
His team allowed seven goals, which says enough. Good in the first half, far from good in the second. Embarrassing performance.
Part of a poor Dinamo defence. Held his own and was physical in the air but should have been more attentive on crosses.
The former Independiente man had a quiet night. With Leko seeing red, he was able to turn his effort up a notch and really frustrate the Lyon attack at times in the first half before the avalanche.
Would have liked to have done more, seeing the ball little. Aided the passing through the middle, but the youngster just didn't look settled in.
The veteran midfielder enjoyed an early shower, receiving two yellow cards in the first 30 minutes. The definition of disaster.
The 17-year-old bagged his side's first-half goal and rightfully so, following up efforts from Beciraj. Was not special, but did stun the visitors with his strike before the comeback.
The tricky Brazilian had a few long-range efforts but failed to dazzle the fans, wasting a great chance from inside the box early on, being denied by Lloris.
Was caught out of place on a few occasions, failing to respond well but made up for it by heading out chances, while also playing intelligent balls forward.
Hard to even recognise in the pitch. Caught watching on a few long balls and really contributed next to nothing.
Did well to cut and shoot on goal twice before Kovacic finished the rebound. Should have scored on the attempt, but regardless, he helped his team grab the lead. Solid showing, though not involved much.
Was brought on to stop the bleeding and control possession, but it didn't help. Ineffective substitute.
Late sub with no time to do anything.
A sub who could do little as Lyon dominated the second half.
The France international denied Sammir in the box early on and Beciraj twice late in the first half, but saw his team go down early as Kovacic punished the French outfit. Was a spectator for the second half.
The young defender had little to do as Lyon controlled the tempo and possession for the majority of the game, but he did pass well while adding a few tackles as Dinamo went on the counter.
The Croatian had little to do, but he did have a couple long shots to keep Keleva on his toes. Was taken off in the second half.
Strong in the air, dominant with the ball. Really aided the movement of Lyon with precise passing, having little to worry about at the back.
Earned several assists from the wing in a dazzling performance. Great passing, great running, wonderful display. Really brought his team back.
How far has he fallen? Once touted as the next great French player, he has been anything but, and Wednesday was another prime example, wasting several free kick chances, despite providing a couple decent crosses.
Fairly quiet night as his team-mates stole the show in the second-half burst but did contribute with an assist to Briand.
Sturdy and stellar, the defensive midfielder really made the back line's job easier, robbing the ball several times, while also dictating the pace of play, providing a spark to initiate the attack with well-threaded passes. Also contributed a goal.
Should have scored, but was one of the most creative passers, setting up Lisandro with a perfect assist.
Earned Leko's second yellow card, while also bagging four goals. Will likely send Cissokho an early holiday present. The star of the night.
The former Rennes star moved around well and was always willing to receive the ball. Did assist a Gomis effort and bagged a second-half goal.
The midfielder came on in the middle of the festival of goals, helping Lyon with possession, despite not being a major factor.
Came on and scored quickly, doing what he was called upon to do. Lovely finish by the Argentine.
