  A mixed bag from the Milan stopper. Horrendous mistake to allow Torje's cross to slip out of his grasp for the first goal, but recovered well to make some great saves, especially two spectacular ones to deny Di Natale and Benatia late on.

  Gianluca Zambrotta

  Solid performance from the full-back who was not especially troubled by Basta on his flank. Had two enterprising overlapping runs in the first half, but tired as the game wore on and was replaced by Inzaghi.

  Great game for the Brazilian centre-half, who solidified his world-class status with another wonderful display. Marshaled Di Natale well, and did not allow Udinese an inch all game.

  Alessandro Nesta

  The veteran defender continued on his fine form from the midweek draw at the Camp Nou, and was strong at the back alongside Silva. Allowed Di Natale past him on one or two occasions, but his anticipation and communication on the offside trap was excellent.

  Ignazio Abate

  Was unconvincing early on, as most of Udinese's early forays forward came down his flank. Outmuscled too easily by Torje for the opening goal, but recovered decently in the second half. Had a great chance moments before the break but flashed it just wide.

  Clarence Seedorf

  The veteran midfielder continues to impress, and was at the heart of all things good offensively for the hosts. Had more than few menacing charges through the center of midfield, and struck the post in the first half from a free kick. Faded slightly in the second half, but did more than enough to leave his mark on the game.

  Mark van Bommel

  Showed his lack of pace on a few occasions, especially when Udinese attacked on the break. However, his challenges were tidy and clean, and showed no signs of the recklessness we have come to associate with the Dutchman.

  Played as an auxiliary winger at times, and did manage to supply a few decent balls into the area. Had a great chance near the end of the first half to score, but was denied by Handanovic

  Ineffective performance from the former Liverpool and Juventus man. Offered no creativity in attack, and did not track back effectively to help his teammates. Deservedly replaced on 70 minutes.

  Glanced an early header harmlessly wide before walking off the pitch in the 20th minute with what looked like a hamstring injury.

  Antonio Cassano

  Tried to do too much at times, and held on to the ball for too long when it would have been better to feed his teammates. However, he got it right twice – a clever slipped pass for Nocerino’s late first half chance and the all-important assist for the equalizer from a great through-ball.

  Tried to inject some flair into the Milan attack when he replaced Pato early on, but was lacking in quality. However, moments after scuffing a good chance in the second-half, he came up with a clever run and finish that ended up securing a point for his side.

  The substitute showed more in 20 minutes than Aquilani did in the previous 70, constantly finding himself in good positions in the attacking third. Had no qualms about pulling the trigger as he let fly with a few efforts, but his radar was a bit off tonight.

  Samir Handanoviç

  Confirmed his status as one of the best stoppers on the continent with a great display. His speed off his line and superb reflexes denied Cassano and Nocerino, but he will be slightly disappointed with being wrong-footed for the equaliser.

  Solid and unspectacular game from the Serbian, but kept possession well. Had trouble getting past Zambrotta in the first half, but offered decent support in both attack and defence.

  Had the better of Cassano for much of the match, and was often the last man back when Milan looked to break. A little careless to put his hands on Inzaghi late on in the box, but that should not detract from a good display.

  Was solid along with the rest of his defensive colleagues in the first half, restricting the Milan attack to long balls over the top. However, he gave away with a few silly fouls, not least the one which led to Seedorf hitting the post from a free-kick.

  Well played by the Colombian tonight, offering a performance of strength and stamina from the left flank. Had one rasping drive that Abbiati did well to tip wide, and was a bundle of energy in defence as well.

  Stuck to his task and kept Aquilani in his pocket all night long, barely allowing the Italian midfielder an inch. Played with plenty of energy as always, and led the Udinese attack on a few occasions by advancing the ball from deep.

  Played his part in the opener when he got the better of Abate in a tight spot and fired in the telling cross that Abbiati could not deal with. Linked well with Di Natale all night, and was at times his side’s best offensive outlet until his withdrawal in the second half.
