Spanish giants Real Madrid continued their perfect record in friendlies this summer with a 2-1 victory over Championship side Leicester City in front of a packed crowd at the King Power Stadium.
As has been the custom in Real's recent friendlies, coach Jose Mourinho opted to play some of his stellar names from the start such as Kaka, Sergio Ramos and Sami Khedira before introducing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Gonzalo Higuain later on.
The visitors took the lead two minutes before the break as Karim Benzema dispossessed Matt Mills before rounding goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and unselfishly playing the ball to Jose Callejon, who rolled the ball into the vacant goal.
France international striker Benzema got on the scoresheet two minutes after the hour mark following a devastating counter attack from a Leicester corner. Fabio Coentrao teed up Marcelo and the Brazilian full-back struck the post; however, Benzema was on hand to tuck the follow-up into the net.
Leicester pulled back a deserved goal two minutes before the end, which gave the home fans plenty to cheer about, as Martyn Waghorn's corner was flicked on by Sol Bamba into the path of Lloyd Dyer, whose volley beat Iker Casillas.
