  Missed out in midweek due to a slight knock, the left-back was in strong form on his return to the team. When he pushed forward, he did so intelligently, and at the back he was more solid and reliable than he has been in recent times.

  Marseille’s outstanding defender this season, the youngster was not out of his depth in this company, learning from the mistakes he made in midweek. Posed a threat in the opposing box, intercepting a Menez pass to worry the visiting side.

  A robust performance from the central defender, who gave a solid showing, even if he wasn’t particularly tested in any capacity. Nearly got on the scoresheet with a header when the match was already sewn up and then slammed the door on Erding when the Turk appeared to be clean through.

  Dropped for the midweek Champions League meeting against Olympiakos, the Spaniard was clearly keen to make amends and was the source of the opening goal with a fine cross. Built on that with several fine raids down his flank, and looked steady defensively throughout.

  Not his finest performance, but his attitude was never in question. Willingly tracked back to protect his defence and was thoroughly tenacious in all his work. His industry was rewarded with a late headed goal that took a deflection en route to the net.

  Back in the starting XI for the first time after a broken metatarsal sustained in August, and it didn’t take him long to make his presence felt, having been booked after just 13 minutes. Disciplined thereafter, and managed a good hour before being withdrawn.

  Something of a surprise selection given his recent form, there were signs that the old Lucho was finally back. Played some classy passes around the box and looked far more commanding and confident in possession than he has been in recent times. Taken off as OM moved to shore up their side.

  Gave the ball away on one notable occasion in his own box, but gave a solid performance for his side in the heart of the midfield. Held his position impressively and protected his back four in an impressive fashion.

  Played out on the right wing, where he is not necessarily at his most effective, but went about his business in an efficient manner. Struck the killer second goal with a lethal shot from the edge of the box and then helped to ice the cake with the assist for the third.

  Opened the scoring with a terrific header with what was OM’s first meaningful attack of the game. Tried gamely to battle through a heel injury sustained midway through the first half, but had to be withdrawn on the half hour mark.

  Playing left-back in the absence of the injured Siaka Tiene, he coped with the threat of Morgan Amalfitano reasonably well, though much of Marseille’s play was targeted in other directions. As a result, he was given some freedom to push forward, but when given a chance to shoot from distance he went high. Booked for a crunching challenge on Andre Ayew.

  Diego Lugano Flop of the Match

  Hasn’t been in favour of late, but was given a vote of confidence by Kombouare, who elected to start with the Uruguayan. Again there were great signs of rustiness in his game, with Remy running off him to open the scoring and then failed to close down Amalfitano for the second. Clumsy with some of his tackling.

  Showed plenty of passion, but at times he failed to lead the defence in the manner that is accustomed of him. Wasn’t directly at fault for any of PSG’s most menacing attacks, but didn’t command his rearguard.

  Linked with a potential move away from the club in the January window, the former Lorient full-back did little to enhance his position in the capital. He was careless in possession on a regular basis, and when forced to defend he failed to inspire confidence.

  The most in-form of the PSG front four, he was well subdued by the OM defence. Was rarely given any service, but when in possession the Brazilian seemed likely to pose a threat; sadly for les Parisiens, this didn’t happen regularly around the box.

  Known for his destructive attributes, the midfielder went closest for PSG in the first half, sending a fine low drive against the base of the post. Wasn’t effective enough in a defensive capacity, as the home side won the midfield battle.

  Off colour in recent weeks, the Argentine continues to look a shadow of the player he was in the early weeks of the campaign. Regularly bullied out of possession, much of the sharpness that previously characterised his game has gone. Withdrawn before an hour had been played.

  Gifted possession away crucially in the lead up to Paris Saint-Germain’s goal, though he won’t have thanked Mamadou Sakho for the pass that played him into trouble. Not a performance that the former Saint-Etienne man will remember as he was outshone by Diarra, who is his rival for a spot in the France team. Didn’t break up enough play.

  Sporting a new haircut, the right-winger was back in the side after missing out last weekend due to suspension, and showed plenty of appetite to get into the game in an offensive sense. Capable of moments of brilliance, he was well contained, and when asked to track back he was not always hasty.

  Looked to get in behind the Marseille defence on a regular basis, but PSG were unable to give him any meaningful service. When he was forced to drop deep, some of his link play was disappointing. Frustrated to have been substituted with an hour played, kicking out at a water bottle.
