Graham Dorrans strike seals three points for Roy Hodgson's side and leaves Mark Hughes' Hoops still looking for points that can ensure their Premier League survival

    Ben Foster

On-loan keeper had very little to do in the opening half, initially, due to a lack of attacking openings for QPR and, latterly, because the Rs' forwards could not hit the target.

Returned to the starting line-up at left back and he handled Mackie well to give the forward very little opportunity to create chances for Zamora.

Ulsterman looked solid at the back but had a busy afternoon against Zamora, the striker was always on the move but he was marshalled well by the centre-half and his chances were few and far between.

  • Billy Jones

    Billy Jones

Very adventurous down the right hand side and was Albion’s best attacking option in a poor first half. He took on Taiwo regularly and had a lot of success but his final delivery lacked the precision his strikers needed.

  • Chris Brunt

    Chris Brunt

The Baggies' captain looked to create chances whenever he got himself on the ball in dangerous areas and his delivery was generally good but there was never anyone there to take full advantage.

  • Jerome Thomas

The winger caused problems against Onouha but he was another player who was let down by his final ball. He never seemed to get the decision to either go himself or pass to a colleague right and that stopped his side adding to their lead.

  • Graham Dorrans

Graham Dorrans Top of the Match

His 22nd minute strike gave the game its first moment of quality as a 30-yard strike flew into the back of the net, his composure was plain for all to see as he got the ball out from under his feet and calmly fired it past Kenny.

  • Youssouf Mulumbu

    Youssouf Mulumbu

Busy in the centre of midfield, he is Albion’s enforcer and he provided protection to his defence as well as breaking forward when the opportunity arose.

  • Peter Odemwingie

    Peter Odemwingie

The striker has not hit the back of the net since February and his barren spell continues after another frustrating afternoon for the Nigerian. He had Albion’s best chance of the opening 10 minutes as Fortune slid a pass into his feet but he dragged his shot harmlessly wide.

  • Marc-Antoine Fortune

    Marc-Antoine Fortune

He is a very hard worker for the Baggies and covered plenty of ground in the game to give the QPR defence plenty to deal with. Showed off plenty of skill to keep control of the ball and create openings for his team mates but he never had a clear sight of goal himself. He was replaced by Shane Long on the hour after picking up a knock.

On for Fortune in the 60th minute and had a chance to double Albion's lead in the final seconds but he fired wide when one on one with Kenny.

Will feel he could have done better with Dorrans’ long range strike as he was able to get a hand to the ball but he was not able to stop the ball going into the back of the net. Otherwise he was hardly tested by a lacklustre Albion attack, he did have to be alert as the hosts got themselves into good positions but were unable to capitalise on them.

It must be hard when you have got two quick strikers constantly looking to run at you but Hill managed well alongside Ferdinand. When one of the Albion strikers did get past him he was able to make last ditch sliding tackles to deny them a shot on target.

  • Taye Taiwo

    Taye Taiwo

The full-back worked hard to keep up with the runs of Brunt and Jones down the right-hand side but he was not always able to stop them getting their crosses in, luckily for him Albion were unable to take advantage.

  • Anton Ferdinand

    Anton Ferdinand

Looked solid alongside Hill and together they coped well against Odemwingie and Fortune but the pace of the strikers did cause them some problems. In the air he was very competitive and he always held a firm line on the edge of his penalty area when possible.

  • Nedum Onuoha

The full-back had a shaky start to his afternoon against the lively Jerome Thomas but he slowly began to settle into the game and was much more reassured in the second half. His distribution could have been a little better, all too often his passes went astray and he was lucky his side were not punished.

  • Samba Diakité

    Samba Diakité

An all-action midfielder, and although there were some moments of quality from him he generally failed to deliver what his team needed. He was too far away from Dorrans for the Scot’s long-range strike and all too often he found himself chasing the Albion midfield back towards his own goal.

  • Shaun Derry

    Shaun Derry

The midfielder returned to the Rs starting line-up and gave a whole hearted performance as you would expect. He battled hard against Dorrans and Mulumbu but never really dominated the middle of the pitch.

  • Adel Taarabt

    Adel Taarabt

He may be seen as something of a luxury for QPR but when he is in the mood he is undoubtedly a quality player. Unfortunately today was not one of his best days as he failed to deliver anything worthy of note for Zamora to feed off.

  • Joey Barton

    Joey Barton

Not his best game but also not his worst, he drifted in and out of the game with the odd bit of quality. He delivered an excellent cross with the outside of his right foot onto the head of Zamora but the striker was unable to direct his header goalwards.

  • Jamie Mackie

    Jamie Mackie

He did his best to get his side on the attack and create chances, but the strong Albion defence made it difficult for him to find an opening to get a shot on target. He looked as dangerous as any of the Hoops' players but could have done better.

  • B. Zamora

    B. Zamora Flop of the Match

Had some good opportunities in the opening half but he was unable to get a header on target and he struggled to find space to really test Foster. He went on to miss some other chances and should have earned his side at least a point.
