Player Ratings: Arsenal 5-2 Tottenham

Could do nothing about the Spurs goals but was a bit rash to dive at Bale's feet for the visitors' penalty.

The Frenchman had an intriguing battle with Bale. Kept tight to the Spurs winger and won his fair share of challenges. Got Arsenal back in the game at the other end with an excellent header - and produced a good cross for Rosicky's goal.

Very unlucky in the fourth minute when Saha's shot looped off him and into the net. Strong when he got tight to Tottenham forwards but less comfortable against runners from deep.

Looked a little weak physically against Adebayor on a couple of occasions but generally showed good anticipation and reading of the game.

Poor positionally and failed to cover runs from deep from the Spurs players. Decent in attack but clumsy for the penalty - for which he could easily have been sent-off.

Scored Arsenal's third goal after ghosting into the bos and flicking the ball home from close range. Before that, he nearly scored in the first-half with a good glancing header that forced Friedel into action.

The Spaniard was influential in central midfield and it was little surprise that he produced a precise cross with his weaker left foot for Sagna's goal.

Generally solid in his role screening the Arsenal back four. Snapped into tackles and mopped up danger while using the ball well.

On the fringes of the game and struggled to get away from Walker. Forced Friedel into a fingertip save just after half-time.

The Gunners captain was unsurprisingly his side's best player. Shot just wide and hit the post before making the score 2-2 in 43rd minute with an expertly taken strike from 20 yards. In the second-half, demonstrated his awareness to set up Walcott for the fourth goal that put the result beyond doubt.

Brilliant saves to deny Rosicky and Benayoun but was helpless as the Spurs defence gifted goals to Arsenal.

The Frenchman tried to keep tight to van Persie and was strong in the air - but he could have been more alert for at least one of the goals.

The Spurs captain was some way off his usual brilliant standards, his lack of pace and fitness exposed despite some well-timed tackles.

Good interception and run for the first goal and nearly scored himself with a piledriver from 20 yards. Spurs' best defending - but that's not saying much.

His pace was a threat on the break but in general he found it difficult. Powerful run to win the penalty - although he went down very easily.

The Croat looked to get his foot on the ball and dictate play for Spurs but he lacked his usual rhythm, often conceding possession. Great pass for Bale to win the penalty.

Selected on the right side of midfield but never got into the game before being replaced at half-time.

Snapped into tackles and it was no surprise that he was sent-off three minutes from time for a second yellow card. Passing was off throughout the game and failed to track runners.

Booed by the fans who once adored him, he converted from the spot to put Spurs 2-0 up. His head dropped once Arsenal got back into the game.

Gave Tottenham a dream start with a deflected shot that found the net in the fourth minute but did little else of note. Replaced by Van der Vaart at half-time as Spurs changed tactics.
