Ewood Park — Blackburn
Referee: M. Dean
Attendance: 20252
Player Ratings: Blackburn 3-2 QPR
A sparkling first-half display from Steve Kean's men was enough for the three points despite a late Jamie Mackie brace bringing a nervous end to the relegation fight at Ewood Park
By Jake Watson at Ewood Park
Was untested in the first half and could do nothing about QPR's late goals.
Got forward brilliantly in the first-half to support Hoilett and dealt with the threat of Wight-Phillips well.
Up against the physical test of Bobby Zamora and definitely came out on top with some key headers.
A real test for Orr on his first start against his former side but produced a display that questions Hughes' thinking about letting him go.
Back in the starting line-up after Givet's suspension and did himself no harm with an assured display despite an early let-off when his back-pass was found short.
The youngster moved into the centre of midfield and never stopped running as he culled the threat of Buszacky and Taarabt in midfield.
Blackburn's weakest player in an otherwise brilliant team performance. The Norwegian lacked any drive or desire that makes you question why he was left on the field for so long.
An display oozing class that deserved to be in the shirt of a top-four side. The gangly midfielder was faultless in possession and broke up play with consummate ease.
Played just behind Yakubu and enjoyed so much of the ball especially in the first-half. He is direct and has flair, a real asset to Steve Kean.
The Canadian was out-shone by Yakubu and Formica going forward but by no-means had a poor game. Scored the vital third goal before going off injured early on in the second-half.
What a difference the Nigerian makes to Blackburn. His side failed to win a single game while he was suspended but looked like he had never been away as his hold-up play launched numerous attacks and found the net once more.
Came on for Hoilett early on in the second-half in midfield when his side was on the back-foot.
Came on late on when it would have been wiser to bring on a defender
Not the QPR keeper's best performance as he was easily beaten by Yakubu's goal and was suspect at times but was certainly never afforded much protection from his defence.
Came in for Luke Young but was part of a defence that was completely over-run by a rampant Rovers side in the first-half.
Moved into a midfield position this afternoon though was never awarded much space to utilise his electrifying pace.
Set up Mackie's goal though was far from his best defensively as he adjusts to Premier League life.
The best of QPR's defenders as he did his best to bring some assurance and quality to the backline. Always looked to take the ball down and play a simple pass.
There is no doubting he is a talent though was far from his best today as he looked nervous in possession. Always looked long when he had better options, more should be expected of the former Manchester City player.
Is still struggling to adjust to Premier League life with so little room. Worked hard though never had enough possession to create any chances.
Was poor in the first-half before being replaced by Mackie early on in the second-half.
Was assured in possession though his midfield team-mates had a poor afternoon leaving him just too much to do to have an impact.
Much improved in the first-half but is still a million miles from the player that was once part of the England set-up.
The lone striker was completely isolated in the first-half and this result makes you wonder why he was so desperate to leave Fulham for this relegation scrap.
Replaced the hapless Buzsacky and scored twice to question his manager's decision to leave him on the bench.
