PROBABLE LINEUPS |
|
QUEENS PARK RANGERS
Kenny Young, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Taiwo Wright-Phillips, Derry, Barton, Mackie Cisse, Helguson |
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS
Hennessey Foley, Johnson, Bassong, Ward Kightly, Frimpong, Edwards, Jarvis Fletcher, Doyle |
If Helguson does return, he is likely to be partnered by Djibril Cisse. The Frenchman made an explosive start to his QPR career in midweek, opening his account for Rangers in twelve minutes.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy also has no new injury worries after his side’s midweek humbling at the hands of Liverpool. He is, however, to be without the injured Jamie O’Hara (hernia) and Karl Henry. The midfield man will serve the second of a three-match ban for violent conduct.
Meanwhile, Sebastien Bassong could make his debut for Wolves alongside Roger Johnson, following his loan switch from Tottenham Hotspur.
| DID YOU KNOW? |
- QPR have recorded just two home victories this season. Only Wigan Athletic have won fewer on their own turf. One of those wins did, however, come against London rivals Chelsea.
- Wolves have gone 11 games without recording a win. This dubious run stretches back to December 4, meaning they have not won a single league game in two months.
- The last time these two sides met, it was QPR who came out on top. Goals from Joey Barton, Alejandro Faurlin and DJ Campbell helped the Rs to a comfortable 3-0 result at Molineux.
- Both sides come into the game in a precarious position in the league, as Mick McCarthy’s
men sit second bottom of the Premier League with Rangers just three points above the drop zone.
- Wolves forward Steven Fletcher (pictured right) is a man in form, the Scot has scored in each of his last four away league games.
- Despite Fletcher’s purple patch, Wolves have failed to record a win in their last ten away games in the league. They have, however, picked up three draws from their last three matches on the road, two of which came in the capital.
- Meetings at Loftus Road between these two sides rarely produce goals. In fact, the last four clashes have seen just two.
- Wolves’ record against teams from the capital does not bode well coming into the game, since the men from Molineux have notched just seven wins in their last 37 games against London based clubs.
- Mark Hughes’ men have been notoriously goal shy at Loftus Road this season, treating their home fans to just 12 goals in 11 games. Only Wigan and Swansea City have scored fewer.
- An intense affair can be expected between the two sides, since they have recorded just one win between them in their last nine games.

The former Liverpool man could find himself up against Sebastien Bassong, who has played little first-team football this season and could be in for a problematic afternoon.

Jarvis is expected to start on the left of a midfield four, but it would not be surprising to see him switch over to the right and give QPR new boy Taye Taiwo a taste of what to expect in the Premier League.
