Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has a fully-fit squad to pick from and, with Premier League survival already achieved, he may opt to hand an opportunity to the club’s fringe players.

Spaniards Jordi Gomez and Albert Crusat could be two who get a start, possibly in place of Jean Beausejour and Shaun Maloney. Martinez recently revealed the club’s out-of-contract players including Mohamed Diame and Hugo Rodallega are unlikely to sign new contracts but both could be handed a role off the substitutes bench.

As for Wolves, Terry Connor is unlikely to make many changes from the side which drew 0-0 at home to Everton. Christophe Berra went off injured in the stalemate to be replaced by George Elokobi and he could keep his place in the starting line-up.

Steven Hunt is likely to miss out with a groin injury and may be replaced by Matt Jarvis. Connor recently confirmed sidelined duo Wayne Hennessey (knee) and Jamie O'Hara (groin) are on schedule to be fit in time for the start of next season.

  DID YOU KNOW?

  • Wigan sit joint-third in the Premier League form table after taking 12 points from their last six matches. Only Manchester City and Fulham have a better recent record.
  • Victor Moses (pictured right), and Franco Di Santo are the club’s joint-top scorers with six league goals apiece.
  • The reverse fixture earlier in the season finished in a 3-1 Wolves win. Jamie O’Hara, David Edwards and Stephen Ward netted for the home side with Ben Watson scoring for the visitors.
  • Latics goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi and Wolves’ Stephen Ward have started all of their respective club’s games in the league so far this season.
  • Terry Connor has failed to win any of his 12 league games since replacing Mick McCarthy as Wolves boss in February.
  • Wolves have only won five of their 37 league matches this season, two less than Aston Villa who have seven victories.

The former Chelsea man has played a key role in Wigan’s recent excellent run of form. He netted a superb goal in their 4-0 home win against Newcastle United and, despite failing to score against Blackburn Rovers, put in another solid performance.

His hold-up play has shown real signs of promise and if he can improve his scoring ratio then the Argentine could take his game to the next level.

The 26-year-old has been one of Wolves’ most consistent performers over recent months.

His pace and trickery make him a handful for opposition defences and if he is on form then the Wigan defence will have to be on the top of their game to stop him.
Prediction
The hosts will be looking to finish the season in style by putting in a sparkling display at the DW Stadium but Wolves will be hoping to give their supporters three points after a long winless run.

Wigan have looked lively going forward in recent games and could well have too much for Wolves to cope with, edging a high-scoring game.
