Bolton Wanderers end the year at the bottom of the Premier League after being held 1-1 by Wolves.
Despite Owen Coyle's side earning their first draw of the campaign on Saturday, they remain strong candidates for relegation, while Wolves' unconvincing display sees them finish 2011 just two points above the drop zone.
Sam Ricketts injected life into the match with a 20-yard strike midway through the first half but Steven Fletcher notched his eighth league goal of the season after the break to share the spoils.
On what is likely to have been Gary Cahill's final appearance for Bolton ahead of his proposed move to Chelsea in January, Coyle's men were sluggish in the opening exchanges and struggled to create chances.
But Ricketts, who was making his return after being sidelined for more than 10 months following his ruptured Achilles sustained in February, put Bolton ahead with his curled right-footed effort past Wayne Hennessey.

Wolves began to get a grips on proceedings after going behind. Stephen Ward catapulted a strong drive from 30 yards which forced Bolton Jussi Jaaskelainen into action but the veteran goalkeeper could only watch as the ball smacked against the crossbar.
Wolves started the better after half-time and gained their reward as Matt Jarvis' free-kick into the area was met by Fletcher who was able to nod past Jaaskelainen.
After 70 minutes, Bolton had a series of on-target chances following a corner-kick, but Hennesey was able to pull off successive short-range saves.
Frustrations mounted towards the end as Jaaskelainen and Zat Knight had a spat over whose right it was to claim a loose through pass but for Coyle, the probability of losing his best centre-back combined with a toothless display in attack will be a more pressing concern heading into the new year.
