Goals from Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe helped Tottenham to notch their sixth straight Premier League win with a 3-0 victory against a Bolton side who had to contend with a controversial red card to centre-back Gary Cahill.
Spurs took the lead through Bale in the opening 10 minutes after he flicked in from close range following a Luka Modric corner. Soon after, however, Bolton found themselves down to 10-men after Cahill was shown a straight red card for a professional foul on Scott Parker.
The home side punished the decision ruthlessly, as Lennon and Defoe found the back of the net in the second half to seal an easy win.
Spurs welcomed Modric back into the Premier League starting XI after he missed last week's win at West Brom through illness. However, they were without captain Ledley King, with William Gallas filling in at centre-back.
Defoe also kept his place in the squad despite Rafael van der Vaart's return from injury, with the Dutchman forced to settle for a place on the bench.
For Bolton, Dedryck Boyata filled in for the suspended David Wheater at right-back, in an otherwise unchanged line-up from the team who lost 2-0 at home to Everton last week.
The visitors started quite brightly, and seemed to be dealing well when Spurs were in possession, but that lasted less than 10 minutes as the home side took the lead.
Tottenham won a corner through Lennon and though Modric's cross initially looked to be a poor ball, Bale met it on the bounce to flick past Jussi Jaaskelainen at the near post and give the hosts the lead, although the goalkeeper should have done better.
In what has no doubt been an emotional week for the Welsh winger, he looked lively down the flank, with Spurs looking to continue their fine form with Parker as captain.

And the former West Ham player was involved in the game's most controversial moment, as Parker closed down the Bolton defence, he nicked the ball from Cahill, who brought him down 45 yards from goal.
With the Spurs man seemingly through on goal, although Zat Knight was covering in the centre, the referee served Cahill a red card.
Fabrice Muamba was the unfortunate party to be sacrificed as Owen Coyle brought on Gretar Steinsson, with Boyata filling in at centre-back.
Afterwards, the goalkeepers took turns making some fine stops. Jaaskelainen was first, saving a Defoe effort from point-blank range, before Brad Friedel was forced into a great save, tipping over a deflected effort from Chris Eagles that looked set to loop into the top corner.
Jaaskelainen then made a good stop to deny Emmanuel Adebayor after the striker had shown good feet to ease past the defender and get an effort on goal.
Bale was the next player to come close, as he picked up a loose ball on the edge of the area, before switching onto his left foot, but he blasted his effort well over.
And if Jaaskelainen hadn't already redeemed himself for Bale's earlier goal, he certainly did in the 35th minute, as he first made a good stop to prevent the Welshman adding to his tally, before thwarting Defoe's effort from the rebound.
Adebayor had two chances to double the lead before half time, the first skimming just past the post before another good stop from Jaaskelainen, before a superb ball from Bale evaded the outstretched legs of both Defoe and the former Arsenal man.
As the teams came out for the second half if was more of the same from Tottenham, but now Bolton seemed powerless to hold out.
Five minutes after half-time, Spurs made it 2-0 thanks to a speedy counter-attack. A Bolton corner was cleared and as Tottenham broke up the right, Defoe switched the ball to Lennon wide on the left, who cut onto his right foot and easily dispatched the ball past the helpless Jaaskelainen.
Spurs then had a penalty shout turned down by referee Stuart Atwell, with Assou-Ekotto brought down by Kevin Davies, only for a corner to be given.
However, on the hour mark Spurs put the game to bed, as another Modric corner from the right aimed found Bale at the near post. This time, the winger headed the ball towards the far post for Defoe to tap home from close range.
Jaaskelainen did well to prevent Parker from making it four, as Harry Redknapp's side's fine streak of form continued, whilst Bolton's misery was compounded even further.
