Was not called on much, but when needed denied Maloney and Di Santo.
Did a reasonable job keeping Moses under control, although the winger had some joy down the Villa right-hand side. Struggled to get forward as much as he would have liked.
Threw himself at shots, doing everything to keep the clean sheet in tact, but was too easily beaten by Di Santo when he rushed into the area.
Had a comfortable afternoon against Stam and it was his tackle on Diame which started the Villa attack that ended with Agbonlahor's goal.
Kept Di Santo in check, preventing the striker getting any joy from the balls played to him by the Wigan defence.
Found pockets of space all around the pitch but could not find the target with his shots and his delivery was not as good as it should have been.
Voted the club's player of last month, the Scot continued where he left off from September, whipping in some delightful balls into the area which created chances for both strikers
A typical performance from the Bulgarian, getting in around the Wigan players and distributing the ball nicely around the pitch. Almost scored with a great strike from distance.
Looked confident on the ball but gave away possession too many times in crucial areas of the pitch which nearly cost his side a goal.
Rushed back from injury, but you can see why. Missed two decent chances to score before tapping in to double Villa's lead.
Another great performance, scoring one great goal, setting up another with a storming run and giving the Wigan defenders nightmares with his pace.
Ali Al Habsi
Made one decent save to deny Bent, but had no chance with Agbonlahor's stunning strike.
Competed well in the air but when faced by Bent he seemed uncertain how to keep the England striker at bay as he found too much space.
Could not deal with Agbonlahor's pace, looking uncomfortable throughout, and did not get forward to support attacks.
Stuck on the right wing, he looked uncertain in attacking positions and could not get the better of Warnock.
Had one good chance from a Watson corner but could not get a touch on the cross. But defensively he suffered against Agbonlahor as he was booked for an accidental elbow when challenging for a header then was turned inside-out for his goal.
P. van Aanholt
Did well to stop Villa getting any joy down the right, especially from Hutton and did well getting forward as he tried to support Moses.
Did well in keeping the ball, but did not stand out in an offensive or defensive capacity as he struggled to deal with Villa's dominant midfield.
Took one lovely corner which Caldwell almost scored from and continued to hassle the Villa midfield and spread the play nicely in what was a largely one-paced Wigan side.
Looked by far Wigan's liveliest player, cutting in from the left but had few options to pick out and gave the ball away too many times, although you sensed he could do something brilliant whenever he got the ball.
Tried to support Di Santo, but apart from some sporadic individual dribbles he found himself unable to do much in an attacking sense, although he hit one shot wide from distance.
F. Di Santo
Did everything but score. Should have had a penalty and had plenty of shots but could not find the net.
