Goal.com's correspondent at the Olimpico Kris Voakes comments: "Palermo finally get their goal. Appaling defendinf by Inter. The Sicilian contingent are believing again!". Truth be told, the corner that led to Palermo's goal was non-existent as the ball clearly went out of play before Balzaretti had his shot deflected by Lucio.
Yellow/Red Ezequiel Muñoz
Eto'o hits the bar! The striker send a crashing drive from the free-kick outside the box, and it hit the bar! Great scenes at the Olimpico.
Assist Fabrizio Miccoli
Goal Ezequiel Muñoz
GOAL! MUNOZ WITH THE GOAL! Palermo get a lifeline! The centre-half was unmarked in the centre of the box, and headed in after a corner on the right. Where were Andrea Ranocchia and Cristian Chivu is anyone's guess.
SNEIJDER! The Netherlands international sends a stunning shot from the left win for the top right corner of Sirigu's goal from 25 yards out, but the goalkeeper pulls off a wonderful save to prevent Inter from scoring for the third time.
Miccoli and Lucio have a hot-headed conversation as Zamparini looks calm in the stands. Odds are on he is going to have a big say on the game after the final whistle. Delio Rossi sacked twice from the same team in the season? Anything could happen with 'Zampa' in charge.
Mariga comes on for Thiago Motta. The Brazilian put in a brave performance, and made a an important contribution for the first goal.
Goal.com's Kris Voakes on Samuel Eto'o second goal: "He does it again! Just this time from the right. Not long left for Inter to see it out. Palermo have been worth at least a goal, but Eto'o has twice made them pay."
Pinilla comes on for Hernadez. It will be very difficult for the Rosanero to turn this game around now, but hope springs eternal as people always say. Also, we have seen stranger things in football.
Assist Wesley Sneijder
Goal Samuel Eto'o
GOAL! SAMUEL ETO'O COMPLETES HIS BRACE! Carbon copy of the situation in which the Cameroon international opened the scoring as Palermo lost the ball in midfield, allowing Sneijder to thread a fine pass for the ex-Barcelona striker on the right side of the box, who once again finished clinically in the lower left corner.
BALZARETTI! The ex-Juventus man bombed down the left, took a few steps, and then sent a powerful drive at goal, but the ball met the side-netting.
Thaigo Motta is struggling on the ground with an injury, prompting the medics team to come on the pitch. Fortunately, he seems to be alright, and returns to the fray.
Sneijder tries to find Pandev on the left side of the box with a pass over Palermo's defence, but Cassani clears the ball away. Carrozzieri was booked a couple of minutes ago for a push on the sole goalscorer so far Samuel Eto'o.
Update from Goal.com's correspondent at the Olimpico Kris Voakes: "Inter being put under the kosh since Miccoli came on. They are picking out gaps, now can they make the most of them? The crowd are on tenterhooks.
Yellow Card Moris Carrozzieri
Chivu with a susceptible tackle on Hernandez which sends the crowd into madness. There was contact for sure, but the Romanian did connect with the ball first.
GREAT ATTACK BY PALERMO! Cassani was released by Ilicic with a simply magnificent backheel near the byline, the ex-Juventus right-back cut back for Miccoli near the penalty spot, but the striker had his shot blocked by Lucio.
Hernandez sees a shot blocked by Stankovic in the centre of the box, allowing Inter to start a counter after collecting the rebound. The Nerazzurri have barely crossed the half-way line since the start of the second half.
Pandev replaced Pazzini a couple of minutes ago. The Italy international had a fairly decent game, considering the meagre service he received tonight.
MICCOLI! SO CLOSE! Cassani whipped in a cross from the right for the ex-Juventus man, but his diving header from inside the box was saved by Julio Cesar in the right corner.
Miccoli is caught in an offside position on the right side of the box. Pinilla is warming up for Palermo, and is likely to replace Hernandez.
Brazil-born Italy international and ex-Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Genoa man Thiago Motta is on the ground after being hit by the ball in the head. He seems to be okay now, and is back on his feet.
Acquah leaves the pitch for Fabrizio Miccoli. The Rosanero fans will be hoping 'The little dynamo' would re-energize their team.

HERNADEZ! LUCIO WITH A LAST-DITCH MASTERPIECE! Pastore powered his way through the centre, and after a couple of quick flicks, he released the Uruguayan on the left side of the box, but Lucio was there to clear the ball from his right foot with a sliding challenge!
Goal.com's Kris Voakes on Palermo's start to the second half: "Palermo start the second half quickly, but one suspects they will need to score next or this might drift away from them."
BALZARETTI! A chance already! The left-back was picked out on the left side of the box, and somehow managed to strike the ball as he was falling down, but Julio Cesar was well positioned and claimed the shot.

Nagatomo with a sliding clearance and the referee blows his whistle for the end of the first half! Samuel Eto'o proved his class once again, scoring when it matters most! Palermo tried hard to get back into the game before half-time, but have been well contained by the brilliant Brazilian duo of Julio Cesar and Lucio. Can the Rosanero turn the match around? Join us after the break to find out!

Lucio seems to have problems with his right leg. It does not look too serious and he should be able to continue.
There will be one minute of injury time.
Inter defending in sixes as Palermo are tightening the grip. Controversial situation here as Ilicic falls under pressure from Ranocchia. Indeed, the Palermo man tripped over himself, and was clearly looking to dive for a penalty here.
More updates from our correspondent at the Olimpico tonight Kris Voakes: "Inter using all their experience right now. Palermo are looking to get something before the break but they are just being allowed to gain any control."
Lucio with an impeccable block and turn with the ball as he skips ahead of Nocerino, but Acquah hacks him down near the touchline on the right. Great play by the centre-half here.
Goal.com's Kris Voakes on Carrozzieri's introduction: "What a story! Only recently back from a two-year drugs ban, here comes Big Moris. And my word he's big these day! A shameeor Goian to leave the scene so early."
Inter are struggling with Abel Hernadez and Javier Pastore's pace and pure physicality and Leonadro should probably take measures at half-time to fix that .
HOW DID NOT THAT GO IN!? First Cassani crossed from the left wing into the box, but Nocerino failed to connect with his header. Then Balzaretti had a shot blocked, and it fell to Hernandez, whose finish was deflected by Ranocchia and Stankovic, but Julio Cesar pulled off an otherworldly save to keep his side in the lead!
Palermo are now looking more aggressive, and are pushing to get the equaliser before half-time.
Update from our correspondent at the Olimpico Kris Voakes: "Clinical. Eto'o provides the finish and Materazzi supplies the carrier bags for the celebration. And now we have Greenpeace demonstrators scaling the Olimpico. It is all going on! "

Now Sneijder tries his luck from range, but his shot from 20 yards out flies way over the bar and into the stands.
PASTORE AGAIN! The Argentinian let it fly from distance, but his powerful shot failed to find the target. Inspiring game by the youngster so far.
PASTORE! Was that a penalty? The midfielder was released on the left side of the box, but Julio Cesar made a brave diving save, and claimed the ball right in front of the Argentinian. Pastore ended on the ground, but no penalty, according to the referee.
Words from Goal.com's Kris Voakes who is in the stadium tonight: "Already the Rosanero have had the holders scrambling on a couple of occasions. Inter are not in their stride just yet, and Palermo are looking a threat."
Sirigu manages to race ahead of Pazzini and collects the ball just before the striker could pounce.
Lucio does superbly to block Hernandez on the left wing, and calmly collects the ball before passing it to Julio Cesar.
Sneijder is on the ground after a double challenge by Acquah and Migliaccio. Nothing serious, however, and the World Cup finalist is okay to continue.
After a hotly contested start to the match, the tempo seem to have dropped. The two teams are patiently awaiting a mistake from the opposition.
Acquah climbs on Sneijder's back in the centre of the pitch and concedes a foul. Lucky to escape a booking here.
Leonardo is waving frantically on the sidelines, giving instructions to his charges. This is Inter's last chance for silverware this season.
Stankovic brings down Illicic with a push from behind in the centre of the pitch. Both sets of players seem fire up for this game.
HERNANDEZ! Illicic sends the striker through on the right side of the box, but the Uruguayan blast wide from eight yards out! First chance of the game already!
