  • 90' + 5'
The final whistle is blown and it has finished 2-1 to Everton and they have more than deserved it. The decisive winner was scored by Coleman but they could have scored many more as they completely dominated the second half. Everton move away from the drop zone and will be hoping towards a top half finish while Tottenham's good recent form has been checked. They stay fourth after Chelsea's defeat at Wolves.
  • 90' + 3'
Spurs still to create anything as Everton look to play down the clock.
  • 90' + 1'
What a big chance that was for Everton. Kranjcar is challenged in the Everton half before Yakubu is set through on goal and all he needs to do is shoot but the Nigerian turns back to get onto his right foot and his shot is blocked. He should have done an awful lot better.
  • 89'
    SubstitutionLouis Saha Jack Rodwell
  • 89'
Time running out here for Spurs and they still keep the ball for long enough to create any real chances.
  • 87'
    SubstitutionSteven Pienaar Leon Osman
  • 86'
Pienaar goes down in a heap following a heavy challenge from Hutton. The Spurs defender leading with perhaps his studs showing a little too much but little complaint from anyone.
  • 84'
Spurs still can't keep hold of the ball and they really have been in this second half. They have got to pull themselves out of this stupor and produce something in the final few minutes.
  • 82'
Everton keeping Spurs at arms length for now as they begin to show a little less adventure going forward.
  • 80'
    SubstitutionAaron Lennon Robbie Keane
  • 79'
The goal was certainly no more than Everton deserve but they have already let slip a goal lead this evening and Spurs have won 16 points from losing poistions so far this season.
  • 77'
    SubstitutionJermaine Beckford Yakubu Aiyegbeni
  • 76'
    Assist Louis Saha
  • 76'
    Goal Seamus Coleman
  • 76'
GOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!! Big, big goal for Everton and don't they deserve it. Beckford swivels excellently to get the ball to Saha who ran towards the area before shooting with power which Gomes palms out straight to Coleman who is on hand to head into an emtpy net.
  • 75'
Yakubu looks like he might be coming into the fray. Good positive move from Moyes.
  • 73'
That would have been cruel. Modric finds the ball and some space for the first time this half and unlocks the Everton defence before finding Van der Vaart who shoots towards the corner before Howard makes an excellent save. Signs of a recovery here from Spurs.
  • 71'
Spurs must be thinking about changing the tactics as Everton are walking all over them at the moment. They just can't get hold of the ball.
  • 68'
Everton continue to push forward in their droves but they can't find a way past Spurs. Redknapp looks stony faced on the touchline.
  • 65'
Everton really are dominating here but they just can't get the ball past Gomes. Coleman is having a lot of success against Assou-Ekotto at the moment and Spurs must hang on.
  • 62'
Brilliant save from Howard. Crouch again flicks on for Van der Vaart who shoots early from the edge of the area and Howard just about tips the ball wide.
  • 61'
Kranjcar it is who comes on for Bale but there is no change in system for Spurs who appear content with a point for the moment.
  • 59'
    SubstitutionGareth Bale Niko Kranjcar
  • 58'
Gareth Bale is really struggling here, he did pick up a knock in the first half and it looks like he could come off now.
  • 57'
    Yellow Card Phil Neville
  • 55'
Everton trying to push forward in numbers but have little to show for it right now. Spurs look a little rattled.
  • 52'
Spurs have begun very sluggishly in this second half but can Everton take advantage.
  • 51'
Everton should be 2-1 up here. Coleman is set free by Saha's flick and Coleman drives into the area and shapes to shoot but delays and delays before eventually shooting with his side foot which Gomes gather easily.
  • 48'
The second half begins much in the same fashion as the first half ended as both teams size each other up.
  • 46'
The second half is back under way with the hope of another excellent half of football.
  • And there's the half time whistle which brings an end to a breathless game of football so far. Thrust and counter thrust from both teams has led to some enthralling football. Saha scored after 3 minutes but Spurs pegged them back in the 11th minute to leave the game finely poised with another 45 to go.
  • 45' + 1'
Free kick from 30 yards out for Tottenham and Van der Vaart fancies it. The Dutchman strikes the ball well but it goes just over the bar. Good Effort.
  • 44'
Goal disallowed and it was a very needless offside it has to be said. Saha gives the ball away very cheaply to Bale who drives down the left before sliding the ball into Crouch's path who pokes the ball home but he was half a yard offside.
  • 41'
Game just petering towards half time, not surprising that the pace of the game has severely slowed down after the frantic opening 30 minutes.
  • 38'
Everton keeping the ball well now but they can't find a way through Spurs. Bale is struggling with what appears to back spasms.
  • 35'
The Goodison faithful arises from its slumber as Beckford misses another good chance. Neville puts in a good cross with pace and Beckford gets up high but also gets underneath the ball as his header from 8 yards sails way over the bar.
  • 32'
Everton looking to hussle and harry as Spurs have quietened down a bit in the last few minutes. The mood in the ground is very muted for now.
  • 29'
A quiet few minutes now as neither side gets hold of the ball for long enough. Everton looking vulnerable when Spurs get the ball wide.
  • 26'
Brilliant advert for Premier League football this game as both teams are pushing forward in numbers.
  • 24'
There is that big chance as Beckford shoots a long way over from just ten yards. He does well to turn Gallas before shooting badly with his left foot.
  • 23'
Everton's turn to have some sustained pressure now as Tottenham camp inside their area. No major chances.
  • 20'
Very feisty affair here as both teams are fully committed in their tackles. Crouch the latest to fly into a challenge much to the disgust of skipper Neville.
  • 17'
Very controversial here at Goodison. Van der Vaart thinks he's put Spurs 2-1 up only for Lee Probert to rule out the goal and give the Dutchman a talking to. A free kick was awarded to Everton and Heitinga seemed to place the ball and flick the ball back as if to leave to Howard but Van der Vaart saw that as the free kick being taken and tried to score an audacious chance.
  • 15'
Decent chance for Everton. Modric is caught in posession by Fellaini who drives towards the area before shooting with his left straight at Gomes. Could have done better.
  • 14'
Time for a breather as both sides settle into a slower rhythm for now...
  • 11'
    Assist Peter Crouch
  • 11'
    Goal Rafael van der Vaart
  • 11'
GOOOOAAALLLLL!!! What a frantic start to this game. Excellent play from Modric who finds Hutton on the right hand side and his ball is headed across goal by Crouch and Van der Vaart rises to head home. Howard perhaps could have done better. What a start here.
  • 10'
Ooooo controversial decision here from Lee Probert. Saha is backed into but Probert says no penalty, Seen them given.
  • 9'
Spurs coming into this game more and more now as Everton look to defend a little too deep which could encourage Spurs
  • 7'
That was close. Crouch flicks on a long ball and Van der Vaart is set free and with no support decides to shoot from distance which leaves Howard scrambling. The American looked relieved to see it go just wide.
  • 6'
The game is being played a frentic pace at the moment and long may it continue. No chances since the goal but plenty of endeavour.
  • 3'
    Assist Leighton Baines
  • 3'
    Goal Louis Saha
  • 3'
GOOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!! What a start here from Everton and what a strike from Louis Saha who had been short of goals before the game. Saha was played inside by Baines who lets the ball run across his body before unleashing a fercious striker with his right foot and Gomes couldn't stop it. Great start here at Goodison.
  • 3'
Bright start from both sides here as Everton make most of the early running.
  • 1'
Referee Lee Probert gets the game underway in front of a hopeful, if not expectant Goodison Park crowd.
  • Spurs travel to Merseyside full of confidence after picking up maximum points from their festive fixtures. Couple this with the thought of David Beckham arriving in January and fans are very excited. Pavlyuchenko and Palacios miss out from the 2-0 win against Newcastle and they are replaced by Crouch and Jenas who made a big difference coming on as a sub against the Toon.
  • Everton come into the game with all sorts of rumours flying around about the future of David Moyes who has assured fans he will be staying. If results don't change then fans may want him to go. Cahill is out of the game due to international commitments in the Asia cup and Beckford replaces him. Jagielka is also replaced by Heitinga from the 2-0 defeat to Stoke on New Years Day.
  • Tottenham line up: Gomes Assou-Ekotto Dawson Gallas Hutton Bale Jenas Modric Lennon Crouch Van der Vaart Subs: Pletikosa, Bassong, Corluka, Palacios, Kranjcar, Pavlyuchenko, Keane
  • Everton line-up: Howard Baines Heitinga Distin Neville Pienaar Arteta Fellaini Coleman Saha Beckford Subs: Mucha, Hibbert, Bilyaletdinov, Rodwell, Osman, Yakubu, Anichebe
  • Good evening everyone and welcome to’s live commentary of Tottenham’s visit to Everton. The hosts need a result to stave off thoughts of a relegation battle in the second half of the season as they sit perilously close to the drop zone. Spurs come into the game in fine form and will be looking to continue their unexpected Premier League title push with another win this evening.
