The 28-year-old goalkeeper was his country's star performer. Made several outstanding saves to deny Villa and company.
The left-back made some decent challenges before making way at half-time.
The experienced Swiss-born centre-half made a vital last-ditch challenge on Torres early on.
Did well particularly in the second-half to keep Spain away from goal.
The right-back struggled to contain the likes of Villa and Capedvilla and was substituted at half-time.
Showed great determination throughout game but had no answer to Spain's midfield.
Showed glimpses of why he is being heralded the future of the Liechtenstein national team. A star for the future.
The playmaker was unable to play his usual role due to Spain being in the ascendancy. Wasn't shy to get stuck in.
The striker had a very poor game. Looked totally out of his depth.
Struggled to get a foot on the ball. At times it looked like he was chasing shadows.
The veteran striker held the ball up well and it was evident that he had played at a higher level than most of his team-mates.
Came on at half-time for Oehri and after a shaky start settled into the game well.
Came on at half-time and did well, making several important interceptions. Should have started perhaps.
Was only on the pitch for 10 minutes and was unable to get on the ball.
The Real Madrid shot stopper had little to do but his concentration was tested early in the second-half when he was forced to rush out of his goal and kick the ball into touch.
Was surprisingly quiet in the first-half especially as we are used to seeing his marauding runs into the box. Got forward a lot more int the second though.
Had little to do defensively but came close to scoring moments before Torres added his second.
Solid game for the veteran who like the rest of his defence was kept unoccupied throughout. Spain are still undefeated when he plays.
The man who is often cited as the weak link of the Spanish national team had a strong game. Linked up well in particular with Villa and attacked regularly.
Typical classy performance from the Barcelona man. Made way for Fabregas at half-time but had already caused the minnows enough damage.
Added his usual calming influence in Spain's fantastically innovative midfield. Never once troubled.
The Real Madrid midfielder went about his business like he always does, quietly but efficiently. Nearly scored from long range.
Was his brilliant self throughout. Controlled the game alongside his co-pilot Xavi and Spain seemed to lose some of their rhythm when he was substituted.
Great night for the striker who drew level with Raul's goalscoring record for La Furia Roja. Like all world class strikers, he will still be disappointed with some of his misses.
The Liverpool man was back with a bang tonight with two perfectly executed goals. His link-up play was great and it looks like he is back to his best. Beware teams of the world.
The Arsenal captain performed well when he came on for the second-half. Great assist for Torres' second of the night. Like the rest of the Spain team, he took his foot off the gas in the last half-hour.
The diminutive Barcelona man was his usual busy self when introduced into the game. Will be disappointed not to have added another competition he has scored in to his list.
Manchester City fans were reminded why Mancini forked out the sum he did on the playmaker. His technique for the goal was excellent, especially so soon after being brought off the bench. Could be very handy for City.
