Did not have a single save to make today, could have as well sat in the stands.
The best Atletico Madrid defender tonight. Found good balance between attack and defence and was sound in both departments.
Put in some telling crosses, but did not inspire much confidence in defensive sense in the second half.
Did not commit a single foul tonight and nearly scored in the 85th minute. Looked stable at the back and showed good positioning.
Just one minute into the second half he managed to earn a yellow card. Whenever he panicked, which happened quite a few times, he committed a foul. Good thing it did not cost the hosts in the end. However, beside this few lapses in concentration, he looked solid.
One of his best performances for Atletico Madrid for a long time. Assisted the second goal after some wonderful interplay with Sergio Aguero and made a nuisance of himself throughout the game. Wonderful passes and flicks from him tonight. A moment of genius in the 67th minute and really lame dive for a penalty following after.
José Antonio Reyes
Showed tremendous skill tonight. His dribbles and flicks were treat for the eye. Provided the assist for the first goal and was unlucky not to get a goal with his attempts to score after that.
Put in a few good passes and was his aggressive self in midfield tonight. Showed good work-rate.
Aside from some decent delivery from set-pieces, the winger offered fairly little tonight.
A frustrating night for the striker. Saw a penalty saved by Aranzubia and wasted a bunch of other chances. Hopefully, this game will not affect his confidence too much.
The man who beat Deportivo by himself is by no means exaggeration here. Won a penalty, and scored two goals. One still wonders whether he actually wanted to pass the ball or shoot in the 90th minute when he spurned a golden opportunity after rounding Aranzubia.
Made a few good saves, but in all honesty, he should have been sent off for bringing down Sergio Aguero. Still, did well to save the penalty and deflected an impeccable free-kick by Diego Forlan into the post to keep the scoreline respectable for his team.
Did not inspire confidence at the back and failed to intervene well for both goals. A night to forget for the defender.
Employed in the centre of a five-man defence, the defender looked lost for most of the game as he chased shadows for large period before being replaced at half-time.
Non-existent contribution in attack and occasionally panicked in defence, resulting in needless clearances. Shown a needless yellow card early in the game.
Extremely poor. Bypassed all too easily quite a few times by Sergio Aguero. The penalty and the first goal came from his zone. Coincidence? Offered fairly little in attack, too.
Struggled to keep Forlan and Simao quiet, but did make some important blocks. Improved considerably after the break.
Like Saul, he could not influence the game in the middle of the park. Chased shadows for most of the game. Replaced by Juan Valeron in the second half.
One could hardly tell he was on the pitch. Outclassed by Tiago and Raul Garcia. Improved a little bit after the break, but it was more down to the fact that Atletico Madrid have lost motivation.
Won a few free-kicks and put in some good crosses, but that was all from him tonight. Much better in the second half.
Aside from a few crosses and clumsy touches, he offered fairly little tonight.
He put much effort tonight, but struggled for most of the game and the end product was pretty much lacking in his performance.

Came on for Aythami at half time, and showed great fighting spirit, but could not inspire his team to a comeback.
Came on late.
- 14 Pablo Álvarez
Came on for Urretavizcaya in the second half, but was not presented with a single chance to halve Atletico Madrid's lead.
