  Looked full of confidence as he ran at Richards, showing an ability to both take the ball down the line and cut inside. Latched on to ball in first-half but denied twice by Hart as Stoke pushed for opening goal and finally rewarded for excellent performance as he kept his head to score late leveller.

  Sat in the middle of the Stoke midfield and helped them control the game in the first half. Long throws were always a threat, as ever.

  Surprise inclusion in the starting line-up after suffering all week with a hamstring problem. Looked sharp in the early stages and was just off target following neat turn. Injury took its toll towards the end of the first half and he was replaced by Tuncay at the break.

  Hooked volley just wide and then scuffed off target with his weaker left foot after great link up with Jones. Had joy cutting in from the left and was a real danger. Looked disappointed when he was replaced by Walters.

  Let the City defenders know they were in a battle with his aerial threat, especially from set-pieces and Delap throws. Seemed to tire late on as he became more static but produced vital flick-on in build up to equaliser.

  Stoke is a long way from Valencia but the City playmaker still oozed class when he got on the ball with his movement and passing. One of the only City players who seemed to have a bit of time on the ball, but he didn't see enough of it.

  It's unlikely that the Argentine striker will have another game as quiet as this all season. He says he's fed up with football and it looked like it as he failed to have any impact on the game.
