  The Newcastle 'keeper had relatively little to do during his 35 minutes on the pitch. His substitution came about due to an injury sustained from a dangerous Jermaine Beckford tackle. Harper hit the ground hard and immediately pointed to his shoulder before being stretchered off.

  Won a few headers at the back for Newcastle but the Argentinean leaves spectators with that lingering sense of doubt whenever he has the ball at his feet. Beckford's pace caused him problems on occasion.

  The on-loan midfielder received a warm welcome from the travelling Newcastle faithful and he didn't let them down. The Frenchman made a number of first-half runs into the box, culminating in a ferocious effort that whistled past the stranded Tim Howard and into the top corner of the net.
