Well, it's half time and the story of that half was that Brazil looked the more dangerous but England are really putting in a shift to close them down. All their threat is coming, inevitably, from their captain Wayne Rooney. Right, back in fifteen.

Maicon's challenge on Milner is a tad late, but the Brazilian right back is down injured and looks like he's come off worse. Still if he comes off, they've got Daniel Alves to come on-he's hardly a slouch.

OOOOOH! Good effort from Bastos, charging forward from left back. Kaka's pass finds him in acres of space, and his low shot is narrowly wide of Foster's left hand post. Credit Nilmar, whose run inside really opened up the space for him.

Well the national anthems are over, there is a great noise coming from the Qatari crowd and it's the five time World Champs against the one time one's-and two of the favourites for the World Cup next year.

Meanwhile England are without Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Emile Heskey, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Theo Walcott, David Beckham, Ashley Cole and Aaron Lennon-as you may or may not know. But there are starts for Ben Foster, Darren Bent, Jermaine Jenas and Wes Brown who has been in great form for Manchester United.

Well the big news from Brazil is no Robinho-Villarreal record signing Nilmar replaces him and Michel Bastos comes in at left back.
