90′ +4
THAT'S IT! Well Brazil were clearly the better team, and in Nilmar they had the best player on the pitch. England will be disappointed, they looked tired towards the end. Good match, thanks for following it tonight. Have a great evening one and all!
90′ +3
Bastos wins a freekick when Brown tries to steal the ball from behind the Brazilian fullback
90′ +2
England once again threaten, Defoe's dinked cross is cleared by Lucio with Crouch lurking in behind.
90′ +1
Crouch wins a corner which fails to beat the first man once again. Brazil look to break but Julio Baptista fails to control Carlos Eduardo's throughball.
90′
Decent half-chance for England, Crouch gets free down the left, he measures his cross to find Huddlestone on the edge of the penalty area. His shot is blocked and just fails to reach Jermaine Defoe.
89′
Daniel Alves fires a shot high and wide from very far out-think he fancies a goal from distance the way he's shooting on sight.
88′
England look to break but Crouch is crowded out and eventually concedes a throw-in in his own half
87′
Substitution
James Milner
Ashley Young
86′
Ashley Young on for James Milner who must be shattered after a marathon effort.
85′
Daniel Alves fires a speculative effort at goal, but Foster claims well. He's had a good night the United keeper.
84′
England are trying to press Brazil high up the pitch, but Brazil look so comfortable on the ball.
83′
England try to release Defoe's pass behind the Brazilian backline but Rooney's throughball is overhit and cleared by Julio Cesar
82′
Substitution
Gareth Barry
Tom Huddlestone
82′

Substitution

81′
Substitution
Kaká
Julio Baptista
81′
Crouch and Huddlestone on for Wright-Phillips and Barry for England. Crouch and Defoe up front, Rooney now slotting in at right midfield.
80′
Kaka and goal-scorer Nilmar off for Brazil, Julio Baptista and Carlos Eduardo on for Brazil
79′
Almost a brilliant goal from Brazil. Neat one-two between Daniel Alves and Kaka finds the marauding winger charging through only for Jenas to block him off
78′
Rooney fires in a low fizzing effort from 25 yards which is easily claimed by Julio Cesar.
77′
WOW! Lucio charges forward from centre half and fires a brilliant effort from 35 yards which leaves Foster beaten but cracks against the inside of the post and rebounds out for England to clear. Great effort.
76′
Milner's corner fails to beat the first man, and the clearance finds Kaka who immediately sets Brazil away on the counterattack with a fine reverse pass to Maicon. He charges down the right and measures his cross to perfection to find Hulk in space but Brown puts in an excellent block to deny him.
75′
England win a corner which they play short to Milner. His left-footed cross skims off a Brazil head and behind for another corner.
74′
Great play by Wright-Phillips, beats two men and surges deep into the Brazil half. Cleared by Bastos.
73′
Kaka drops deep, and fires in a shot which is blocked by an England defender completely taking the sting out of the effort and it is easily claimed by Foster.
71′
Decent spell for England, keeping the ball for a sustained period but posing very little threat.
69′
Good chance for England. Wright Phillips' cross finds Milner in space, and his volley is narrowly over.
68′
England's service has been poor tonight, and Milner sums it up with a woeful cross when England finally get into a decent position which is easily claimed by Julio Cesar.
67′
Substitution
Luis Fabiano
Hulk
66′
In winning the header, Fabiano has gone down heavily and has to come off on a stretcher. Hulk of Porto is on to replace him.
65′
Substitution
Elano
Daniel Alves
64′
Maicon's cross from the right reaches Fabiano who got in between the England centre halfs, but his header is sent high over the bar.
63′
Change for Brazil, Daniel Alves on for Elano who provided the wonderful pass for Nilmar to score.
62′
Rooney is looking agitated as he is brought down from behind by two Brazilian markers. Freekick for England is wasted as they fire the freekick to Milner but he has little chance of receiving it as it goes straight behind for a goalkick.
60′
Corner is cleared through a convincing punch from Julio Cesar-could be his first meaningful involvement in the match.
59′
First real moment of note for England in this second half, Milner beats Maicon and earns a corner.
58′
Fantastic play by Brazil. Lucio advances forward from centre back, his pass finds Fabiano, whose backheel reaches Elano in space but his shot is dragged wide from a good position.
57′
England are really struggling now. Wes Brown's difficult evening continues as he is robbed by Nilmar after wanting too long on the ball. Brazil looking very threatening.
56′
Missed Penalty Luis Fabiano
55′
Yellow Card Ben Foster
55′
HE'S MISSED! Spectacular miss by Luis Fabiano! He sends his penalty high and wide of Foster's goal and England earn a reprieve.
55′
PENALTY! Wes Brown makes a horrible attempt to chest back a backpass, Nilmar nips in and is bright down by Foster. Clear penalty and a yellow card for Foster.
54′
Substitution
Darren Bent
Jermain Defoe
54′
A difficult evening for Darren Bent comes to an end with Defoe replacing him.
53′
WHOA! Elano's low cross nearly catches Foster out at his near post, but the keeper does well to palm it out.
52′
England have responded well, but are posing little threat. Darren Bent is getting little service, while Brazil's midfield duo Melo and Silva are winning the midfield battle hands down.
50′
Freekick is hoisted in and finds Upson unmarked at the back post, his header back across goal is cleared to Wright-Phillips whose shot is blocked.
49′
Wright-Phillips beats Bastos again, and wins a freekick.
48′
Lescott's poor clearance is seized upon by Maicon. He heads towards the England box, but his pass to Nilmar is behind the striker, who is immediately tackled by Brown.
47′
Goal Nilmar
46′
GOAL!! Well it's that man Nilmar whose looked the liveliest player on the player all game. Elano's wonderful through ball dissects the England defence, and Nilmar-escaping some poor England marking again-guides his header past Foster who had no chance.
45′
Wonderful stuff from Nilmar again, turns brilliantly away from Brown but England clear.
Well the half-time is over, and Brazil are going to get us back underway. Let's hope for some goals in the second half. No changes at half time from either team.
45′ +3
Well, it's half time and the story of that half was that Brazil looked the more dangerous but England are really putting in a shift to close them down. All their threat is coming, inevitably, from their captain Wayne Rooney. Right, back in fifteen.
45′ +2
England clear the freekick away at the second attempt courtesy of Jenas
45′ +1
Brazil keep the ball once again, until Nilmar is rather crudely 'hacked' by Wes Brown-freekick in a dangerous area.
44′
Keep ball from both team's at the moment, both midfield's seeking to take the sting out of the game
42′
James Milner puts in some fantastic tracking back to stop the marauding Maicon from getting forward.
41′
In truth, neither of these team's talismen-Kaka and Rooney, who are both acting as legitimate number ten's, both in position on the pitch and shirt numbers today, has really been in the match. Though when they have they have really sparked this game into life.
39′
Gilberto Silva's effort from range is blocked wide by an England player. Elano's corner fails to beat the first defender, Wayne Rooney.
37′
Brazil then enjoy a decent, controlled spell of possession themselves. But both Maicon and Fabiano's crosses have been well cleared by Wes Brown.
36′
The resulting corner bounces here there and everywhere in the Brazil box. Rooney's effort is blocked, it runs out to Barry who finds Milner who cuts inside Bastos but fires over the bar. Good spell for England.
35′
Rooney gets clear, and evades Lucio and Thiago Silva's challenge, but is blocked off by the latter. The ball runs to Bent whose shot is deflected wide for a corner. Looked a decent freekick shout, with Rooney leading the calls, but the ref was unmoved.
34′
England are grateful for a decent spell of possession. Rooney then shoots over from 30 yards-slight hint of frustration there.
32′
Nilmar's starting to really look lively, but he seems rather reluctant to shoot for some reason. He once again escapes Upson's attentions, but is blocked out by the covering England defenders
31′
Nilmar again escapes the attentions of Brown and Upson. He finds Kaka whose shot is curling in the far post but the increasingly busy Foster catches well at full stretch.
30′
Nilmar escapes down the left flank, he cuts it back to Kaka whose shot is caught by Foster
29′
Luis Fabiano escapes Lescott and Upson for a second, but he is forced away from goal, but his throughball is cut out by Bridge for a corner. The corner is cleared but Melo does brilliantly to escape Jenas' challenge and fires his shot straight at Foster.
27′
Maicon's back on, and the game resumes
26′
Maicon's challenge on Milner is a tad late, but the Brazilian right back is down injured and looks like he's come off worse. Still if he comes off, they've got Daniel Alves to come on-he's hardly a slouch.
25′
Kaka is shepherded away from the England penalty area well by Upson. Elano then attempts a speculative effort which flies over.
24′
Encouraging signs from England. Wright-Phillips skips past his man and delivers a low cross which Brazil fail to clear. It reaches the City winger again and this time his cross is higher and Bent's header is wide.
22′
OOOOOH! Good effort from Bastos, charging forward from left back. Kaka's pass finds him in acres of space, and his low shot is narrowly wide of Foster's left hand post. Credit Nilmar, whose run inside really opened up the space for him.
21′
Neither team has really hit top stride here, England's midfield are wasting decent opportunities with poor passes, while Brazil have yet to really trouble. Just wonder whether the humidity has a part to play.
20′
Fantastic tackle by Upson, Kaka bearing down on him and advancing on the penalty area, but he times his challenge to perfection and halts the playmaker.
18′
Wright-Phillips twice overhits attempted throughballs to Wes Brown in the space of a minute with England in good positions.
17′
Michel Bastos does well, tackling Wright-Phillips and charging down the left flank. His throughball is cut out, but Upson's passback to Foster causes the keeper to miskick, but Kaka fails to miscontrol his wayward clearance.
15′
England are beginning to cede more and more space, Brazil are now really dominating the play.
13′
Kaka breaks through England's central midfield far too easily, his throughball is cut out by Bridge.
12′
Decent passing move from England, Barry's crossfield pass finds Brown who wins a throw, Rooney then receives and fails to put through his United team-mate.
10′
Oh dear Matthew Upson, he is made to look rather foolish by Nilmar who robs him as he tries to see the ball out of play. He advances on the area, but his pullback is excellently intercepted by Lescott who saved his partner there.
9′
A decent spell of possession from Brazil collapses after Elano makes a complete hash of an attempted throughball to Maicon
7′
Looks like England are trying to press Brazil into their own half, Bent, Wright-Phillips and Rooney keep them closed in a corner before Fabiano wins a freekick after a push from Brown
6′
Well.....it counts as an effort but Melo's 35 yard strike is closer to the corner flag then the goal.
5′
Brazil have now quickly hit their stride, with Melo and Gilberto Silva seeking to control the tempo and they enjoy a decent spell of possession.
3′
First glimpse of a Brazilian threat, and it's main strike threat Luis Fabiano-prolific for Sevilla and Brazil, whose header is tame and easily collected by Foster.
2′
Good move from England. Wright-Phillips skips away from Michel Bastos who is really a winger by trade, and his low cross fizzes across the goal and Rooney narrowly fails to make contact.
1′
Good early start for England, Wayne Rooney, captain tonight, clips a ball through for Darren Bent who was just offside, though Michel Bastos stand-in left back was slow in stepping up the line.
And it's England who get us underway
Well the national anthems are over, there is a great noise coming from the Qatari crowd and it's the five time World Champs against the one time one's-and two of the favourites for the World Cup next year.
Meanwhile England are without Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Emile Heskey, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Theo Walcott, David Beckham, Ashley Cole and Aaron Lennon-as you may or may not know. But there are starts for Ben Foster, Darren Bent, Jermaine Jenas and Wes Brown who has been in great form for Manchester United.
Well the big news from Brazil is no Robinho-Villarreal record signing Nilmar replaces him and Michel Bastos comes in at left back.
England line up: Foster, Brown, Upson, Lescott, Bridge, Wright-Phillips, Barry, Jenas, Milner, Rooney, Bent.
Subs: Green, Cahill, Warnock, Huddlestone, Crouch, Defoe, Young, Hart.
