Well, it's over here at Eastlands, and City fully deserve their victory. Tevez has bagged two goals against his former side, but it was Petrov who impressed me the most this evening. West Ham battled through out the match, but it wasn't enough for the Londoners. At full time, it finishes Manchester City 3-1 West Ham United.

Bellamy and Petrov are content to play the corner short, and the match is a matter or ball retention right now.

PETROV SHOULD HAVE MADE IT FOUR THERE! Brilliant skill from the Bulgarian as the winger weaves his way into the penalty area, but his right-footed shot flies over the bar.

A thunderous run from Cole is halted by Toure, and City break quickly and another delivery from Petrov almost hands Santa Cruz a debut goal, but his effort goes wide.

A foul on Hines by Petrov gives Diamanti a chance to put a decent ball into the box. The delivery is good, Cole goes up for it, BUT DA COSTA GETS IN HIS WAY! Cole is furious with his team-mate!

Substitution Shaun Wright-Phillips Roque Santa Cruz

Noble releases Stanislas who finds Faubert on the right. Diamanti collects the ball in the middle of City's half, but the Italian tries the extravagant, and his long range effort slices harmlessly wide of Given's goal.

And here's Santa Cruz's big moment. The summmer signing from Blackburn replaces Wright-Phillips to make his competitive debut for City.

GREAT SAVE FROM GREEN! An exquisite touch from Petrov tees-up Barry for a dipping half volley, but the England goalkeeper leaps well to tip the effort over the crossbar.

A one-two between Barry and Bellamy lines the Welsh forward up with a similar chance to his first goal in the Manchester derby, but this time his curled effort is slightly high of the top corner.

With around fifteen minutes left, the tempo of the match ahs seemingly died down, with city content to be patient in their use of the ball.

Barry concedes a free kick around 30 yards from goal. Diamanti will take this, and after some pinball moments, Toure manages to scramble it away for a corner. Noble takes it, but Tomkins misses with a free header! Great chance for the youngster!

Zola appears to be ready to make some changes, with Hines and Stanislas replaceing Jimenez and Kovac.

The man from Diamanti almost said yes there! Twice Given denies the Italian a goal!

Another corner for city, and Petrov will whip this one in from the right with pace. Barry looks to get on the end of it!!! But his flicked header loops harmlessly over Green's crossbar.

Mark Hughes appears to be ready to hand Santa Cruz his debut, as the Paraguayan warms up on the touchline.

Wright-Phillips breaks well down the right, receiving a nicely slotted pass from Tevez. The winger chips it to the far post, but Bellamy's acrobatic attempt flies over.

Faubert concedes another free kick, and he'll receive his final warning here. Bellamy whips it in....AND IT'S THERE! TEVEZ MAKES IT 3-1 TO CITY! A COMPOSED HEADER AT THE FAR POST!

After a slow start in this second half, the home are gradually grabbing the match by the scruff of its neck, and City look most likely to score here.

Diamanti receives a booking after a moment of petulance, as he kicks the ball away in disgust after conceding a free kick.

Kolo Toure is looking very composed in the heart of City's defence this evening; he lookis very settled.

Bellamy wins a corner off of Da Costa. Petrov will take this from the right side, but Ilunga heads clear and West Ham can break here.

Jimenez displays some South American wizardly, creating space inside the City penalty area, but his driven shot is blocked before it tests Given.

Another corner for the visitors, they're pressuring City well so far. Noble will swing this one in, but it misses everyone in the penalty box, before rolling out for a goal kick.

West Ham have started the second confidently here, and win the first corner of the half. Diamanti will take it, but it's headed away but Petrov.

And we're back for the second half!

Half time here, and it's 2-1 City. They've played magnificently at times during the opening 45 minutes, Petrov in particular, but with only one goal in it, West Ham aren't out of this match yet. City lead 2-1 at the interval.

Another corner for City is the dying moments of this half. Petrov will take this, and all the big guys are forward. Great delivery, but Tevez's strike is blocked by Ilunga for another corner. Bellamy takes it, but Green punches clear.

ANOTHER GREAT EFFORT FROM PETROV! WHAT A GOAL THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN! Good work from Wright-Phillips to create the chance, lofting a cute pass over the West Ham defence for Petrov to smash on the volley, but once more Green keeps it out. Great hit!

Powerful cross from Zabaleta arrives at Bellamy, and the Welshman's well-directed header is kept out by Green as City continue to seek a third before the interval.

The linesman's flag denies Parker the equaliser, as Cole is adjudged to have hauled Lescott to the ground.

BRAVE GOALKEEPING FROM GREEN DENIES TEVEZ! Tevez leaves Da Costa for dead, but as he approaches West Ham's goal Green rushes out to smother the strikers advance. Good goalkeeping there.

Less than ten minutes to go here, as Diamanti chases down a long pass to win a throw in, but nothing materialises.

Petrov is down receiving treatment after colliding knees with Faubert. Hopefully he'll be able to continue, he's playing fantastically this evening.

Well, West Ham have it all to do now as City return to their early dominance.

GREAT EFFORT FROM PETROV! 2-1 CITY! Petrov strokes the free kick past Green, maybe with the assistance of a deflection, but the Bulgarian won't care! 2-1!

Corner for City, Petrov will take this one, but once more Cole clears. But Jimenez jumps into De Jong when chasing the second ball, and now the Hammers face a free kick on the edge of their box....

Cole goes close to giving West Ham the lead! The England striker latched onto to a decent cross from the left, but his header was kept out by Given, who needed to be at full-stretch there!

West Ham certainly seem lifted by their goal, and the visitors are moving the ball around much better now, with Jimenez and Parker starting to find space in the midfield.

GOAL FOR COLE! AGAINST THE RUN OF PLAY! A long range effort from Kovac appeared to be going wide, but Cole adjusted himself sharply to flick the ball past Given and into the net. All level now!

The Hammers look very narrow in the middle of the park this evening, maybe in attempt to deny City space to move the ball; but at the moment the central battles are being won by De Jong and Barry.

West Ham try to take the sting out of the game by passing the ball about their defence, but it's not long before City have it back.

GREAT EFFORT FROM PETROV! Good interchanging of play between Bellamy and Wright-Phillips finds the feet of Tevez, who drags a neat little cross from the right to the edge of the area for Petrov to strike on the volley, and Green did well to get to that!

West Ham have their first shot on target. Noble breaks from the midfield, and his long range effort deflects off the back of Toure, but safely into Given's hands.

City continue to play the ball around confidently, until another cross from the left lands at the feet of Carlos Tevez, but the Argentinians' strike blazes over. Tevez could have had a hatrick already!

The dark side of football has raised its face already in this match, Faubert stays down after a heavy challenge from Lescott, forcing City to kick the ball into touch, only for Faubert to immediately rise to his feet!

Mark Hughes will be delighted with his side during the opening ten minutes, they seem really up for this one!

Petrov continues to impress during these early stages. Every time he receives the ball the atmosphere seems to intensify as the Bulgarian whips in delightful crosses, and Tevez goes to close to making it two for City. West Ham can't handle them!

West Ham can't seem to keep hold of the ball at the moment, as once more City intercept the Hammer's advances in the middle of the park.

Manchester City win the first corner of the match, and Bellamy will take it...But Carlton Cole heads it clear.

Mark Hughes will be hoping to see his defence communicating more efficiently tonight, after concerning moments against Manchester United.

And we're under way at Eastlands!

It could be a long night for West Ham in Manchester this evening; I feel that if they can get a point out of this match they’ll be delighted. Rob Green will need to be on top form tonight, especially in the absence of Matthew Upson. I just can’t see the Hammers putting many past Shay Given tonight. But anything can happen in football!

As for West Ham, they will line-up with: Green, Faubert, Da Costa, Tomkins, Ilunga, Diamanti, Kovac, Parker, Noble, Jimenez, and Carlton Cole.

And now for the line-ups...Mark Hughes opts for: Given, Zabaleta, Toure, Lescott, Bridge, Wright-Phillips, De Jong, Barry, Petrov, and former West Ham strikers Carlos Tevez and Craig Bellamy.

Mark Hughes’ side will be hoping to make it six home victories in a row in the Premier League tonight, a run which stretches back to last April; whereas West Ham are in danger of losing three on the bounce, and subsequently prolonging their stay in the relegation zone. Interestingly, Manchester City and West Ham are the only two sides in the Premier League yet to be behind at half-time this season; so we can perhaps expect a cagey contest in the first half at least!

It’s the last of the Premier League fixtures tonight, and in Manchester City and West Ham we have another exciting spectacle. West Ham were victorious when these sides last met in March, winning 1-0 at Upton Park thanks to a Jack Collison strike. The Hammers will not underestimate this greatly improved City side however, as the blue side of Manchester are unbeaten at home in the league against West Ham since April 2003. Can Zola’s men grab a victory this evening?
