Thank you for following Goal's live text commentary for Arsenal's clash with Vietnam. Until next time, I've been Theo Squires, thank you and goodbye.
Full-time. Vietnam 1-7 Arsenal. A first half hat-trick from Olivier Giroud set the Gunners on their way, before further strikes from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ignasi Miquel and a Chuba Akpom brace gave the scorelines a comfortable look. Trần Mạnh Dũng notched a late consolation for Vietnam, who also had goalkeeper Tran Bu'u Ngoc sent off in the last minute for handball.
90′ +2
Vietnam aren't letting the red card stop them as they unleash another strike at goal from distance. Martinez does well to tip the ball over.
Red Card Trần Bửu Ngọc
RED CARD! The Vietnam goalkeeper Ngoc is sent off for handling the ball outside his penalty area. From the resulting free-kick Walcott fires another effort off-target.
Vietnam ending the game strongly as they continue to play their best football of the match, but another opportunity to make it 2-7 is wasted.
Another Vietnam substitution as the rain pours down in Hanoi. The referee might as well blow up now. You can hear the thunder getting closer. However, play continues as we enter the dying embers of the game.
Substitution Cong Vinh Le Nguyễn Huy Hùng
That is a shocking miss from Theo Walcott. Left unmarked in the penalty the winger somehow manages to sky his effort over the bar when in a good position. All he had to do was keep it low and drill it across goal and he would have added his name to the scoresheet.
Vietnam almost have a second but Martinez makes good save to prevent a swerving shot making it 2-7.
Goal Trần Mạnh Dũng
GOAL! Vietnam have a goal! Dung does well to connect with a poor cross and get a shot on target. It's not the greatest volley and it somehow loops up into the net over the helpless Martinez's head. He has his goal, and a booking for his troubles after inevitably removing his shirt to celebrate.
Goal Miquel
GOAL! Arsenal have another seven. Ignasi Miquel running forward from centre-back plays a one-two on the edge of the Vietnam penalty area before rifling a low effort into the bottom corner.
Another four substitutes for Arsenal as Martinez, Aneke, Olsson and Eisfield join the action. Fabianksi is the only Gunners player not to get on so far.
The fans in the crowd, many of whom are supporting Arsenal, are entertaining themselves with a Mexican wave. What can I say, Arsenal haven't scored for ten minutes. Sort it out Arsene!
Substitution Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Jack Wilshere
Jack Wilshere comes on to replace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for his first taste of action on Arsenal's pre-season tour of Asia.
Goal Chuba Akpom
GOAL! 6-0 Arsenal. Akpom again. Oxlade Chamberlain plays a first time ball across goal into the 17-year-old's path, who is on hand to tap home into an empty net. Very easy for Arsenal.
Goal Chuba Akpom
GOAL! 5-0 Arsenal. Substitute Chuba Akpom this time. Ramsey slips the ball through to the youngster, who cuts back onto his favoured right foot before drilling the ball across goal into the bottom right-hand corner.
Vietnam make their ninth substitution of the game. Still trying to confirm the Arsenal line-up this half. Szcezesny, Ramsey and Walcott are all on, while Jack Wilshere remains on the bench.
Arsenal remain on top in this pre-season friendly. Vietnam are offering very little and just don't look like scoring in this one. The Gunners meanwhile must have one eye on matching their seven goals from their last game.
Substitution Damián Martínez Wojciech Szczesny
Substitution Tomas Rosicky Kristoffer Olsson
Substitution Mikel Arteta Theo Walcott
Substitution Carl Jenkinson Miquel
Substitution Lukas Podolski Thomas Eisfeld
Substitution Nguyễn Minh Phương Nguyễn Minh Phương
Substitution Nguyễn Gia Từ Nguyễn Văn Quyết
Substitution Huynh Quang Thanh Lê Quang Hùng
Substitution Anh Duc Nguyen Hong Quan Mac
Substitution Dương Hồng Sơn Trần Bửu Ngọc
Substitution Wojciech Szczesny Damián Martínez
Goal Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
GOAL! 4-0 Arsenal. Oxlade Chamberlain. An instant impact from subsitute Theo Walcott as the wingers tees the ball up for his England colleague, who hammers home from 18-yards out.
Substitution Mikel Arteta Aaron Ramsey
Eight changes from Vietnam at half-time as Arsenal kick-off the second half. Plenty of changes from Arsenal too which we'll confirm as soon as we can.
Half-time here at Hanoi as Arsenal find themselves 3-0 up against Vietnam, without ever hitting first gear. Olivier Giroud's first half hat-trick gives the score-line a comfortable look as the Frenchman takes his pre-season tally to five goals in two games. Are you sure you need another striker Arsene?
Assist Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Goal Olivier Giroud
GOAL! 3-0 Arsenal and Olivier Giroud has a hat-trick. Oxlade Chamberlain does well to feed the Frenchman, who runs onto to the through ball before cleverly lofting the ball over the Vietnam keeper into the empty net. A delightful strike.
Goal Olivier Giroud
GOAL! 2-0 Arsenal. Giroud again. An awful attempt at a clearance from the Vietnam defender falls kindly to the Frenchman, who curls a superb first-time effort at goal into the top corner from the edge of the area.
Arsenal very unlucky not to double their leads as Podolski first sees a thundering effort cannon back off the post from a narrow angle, before Gnabry fires the rebound straight at the keeper from the edge of the penalty area.
Another missed opportunity for Arsenal as Arteta curls a free-kick harmlessly over the bar. Should have at least hit the target from what was a dangerous position 30-yards from goal.
Sagna has been a rock in the Arsenal defence so far. He's been everywhere, sweeping everything up. His performance comes at the perfect time for Arsene Wenger as his defensive injury crisis continues. Could Sagna be the answer to his prayers?
Vietnam are playing a very high defensive line and so far it is working, with Arsenal being caught offside on numerous occasions. If the Gunners can time their runs right they could be in for a hatful of goals this afternoon.
Vietnam have had their first meaningful shot on goal as they fire an effort wide from the edge of the box.
Free-kick to Vietnam in a dangerous position outwide. The ball is whipped in but Sagna manages to head it away.
Awful from Arsenal in attack. Podolski and Giroud far too lacklustre. Podolski walks his way through the Vietnam defence and finds himself one-on-one in a central position. Rather than take the shot himself on his weaker foot, the German taps the ball to his right, expecting Giroud to tap home, but the Frenchman doesn't even move towards the ball and Vietnam clear.
A low-key encounter so far, unsurprisingly perhaps to the heat and humidity in Hanoi. Arsenal have been the better side after a bright start from Vietnam, but have been unable to add to their early lead. It was 1-0 at half-time in their last match against an Indonesian XI, and that game finished 7-0, so there is plenty of time for a few more goals yet.
Keiran Gibbs appears to be struggling with injury at the moment. The left-back keeps holding his lower back but as it stands he remains on the field of play and looks to be carrying on.
It should be 2-0. Great play from Gnabry on the right-hand side as he bamboozles defenders before chipping a ball into the box, which Podolski heads over when well-placed. The German will be disappapointed with himself there. He should have at least hit the target but was unable to keep his effort down.
A midfield battle at the moment with both sides equally sloppy in possession, exchanging passes around the centre-circle. It remains 1-0 to Arsenal through Olivier Giroud's early strike.
Arsenal on top now. They've been tidy but unspectacular. The Gunners are patient on the ball and be very disappointed with themselves if they are unable to add to their early lead.
Nearly a second for Arsenal after a good run from Gnbary. The youngster feeds Oxlade-Chamberlain, but the England international's powerful drive from distance is well-saved.
Vietnam aren't sitting back in this one. Not deterred from falling behind early one, they are still looking to hold onto possession and attack. Sadly their defenders' positioning does leave a lot to be desired.
Assist Tomas Rosicky
Goal Olivier Giroud
GOAL! Giroud. Not very long it would seem. Rosicky chips the ball forward towards the Frenchman, who volleys the ball first time into the bottom right-hand corner to give the Gunners the lead from their very first shot at goal.
A strong start from Vietnam so far. They're holding onto possession well and aren't afraid to run at Arsenal. They have been unable to find an early breakthrough as the Gunners sit back and absorb pressure, but it'll be interesting to see how long they can carry on like this against their Premier League opponents.
And we are underway here in Hanoi! Vietnam kick-off after a delayed start and immediately look to go on the attack.
Akpom almost gets his hat-trick but his goalbound effort is deflected behind for a corner. The resulting set-piece comes to nothing.
Vietnam actually have a shot! It's blocked by Mertesacker though. That's the closest they've come to a goal in this match. That isn't saying much.
With the start of the 2013/14 Premier League season exactly one month away today, the Gunners face the team ranked 145th in the latest FIFA rankings in front of a 40,000 sell-out crowd in Hanoi, with kick-off is just moments away.
Today's kick-off has been delayed by 15 minutes, so will now not start at 1.15pm. Stay tuned for live minute-by-minute coverage as and when we do get underway.
Arsenal subs: Fabianski, Martinez, Miquel, Mertesacker, Aneke, Ramsey, Walcott, Akpom, Wilshere, Zelalem, Ryo, Eisfeld, Olsson.
Arsenal starting XI: Szczesny, Jenkinson, Sagna, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gnabry, Giroud, Podolski.
Arsene Wenger names a strong starting XI for today's clash with only 18-year-old Serge Gnabry not a familiar names to Gunners fans.
The Gunners kick off in just 15 minutes against the national side at the My Dinh National Stadium and will be aiming to secure consecutive wins after defeating an Indonesian XI 7-0 in their first match. Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud were all on target in that game and will be looking to do so again as speculation surrounding Arsenal's interest in strikers Luis Suarez and Gonzalo Higuain continues.
History is being made this afternoon as Arsenal become become the first Premier League team to play in Vietnam, as they continue their pre-season tour of Asia ahead of the upcoming 2013/14 campaign.
