Live Commentary

  • I've been Greg Taylor, thanks for being with us, have a great Saturday evening.
  • FULL TIME: With another three points in the bag, Hull can really look forward to Wembley next week. George Boyd's first half header was enough to earn his side their 10th win of the campaign and surely they're safe now. Swansea meanwhile are just six points above the drop and will be frusrated that they came away with nothing this afternoon.
  • 90' + 3'
One last long ball into the box by Shelvey but Howard Webb is looking to his watch.
  • 90' + 2'
There will be four minutes of added time. Hull are trying to waste a little bit of time much to Garry Monk's distaste. He is fuming on the touchline.
  • 90' + 1'
    SubstitutionNikica Jelavic Y. Sagbo
  • 90'
Swansea are still pouring forward, a deep cross is hit toward Bony but Elmohamady calmly nods the ball back into the arms of Harper as Hull fans begin singing, "We're going to Wembley".
  • 87'
For all Swansea's dominance this half, they've really struggled to create an clear cut opportunity. Hull have looked very comfortable at the back and dangerous on the break.
  • 85'
Williams header is only half cleared and Meyler almost gets onto it but Shelvey wins it back, he feeds Dyer on the right who slips Bony in again but the Ivorian can't get a shot away and Harper claims the ball.
  • 83'
    SubstitutionLeon Britton Leroy Lita
  • 82'
CHANCE: Should Swansea be level? Great play by Shelvey in the middle, he releases Bony whose first touch is brilliant to get the ball under control but his second is poor, it's high and over the bar.
  • 80'
FACT: Michu's assist against Norwich last time out was just the fourth Premier League goal he's been involved in this season (two goals, two assists). How much have they missed their big man this season?
  • 78'
Hernandez does well, he juggles the ball round Davies but his effort is well wide. Hull break with Meyler down the right, he delivers a low ball but it's behind every Hull player and Swansea have a throw.
  • 76'
Not a great delivery but Routledge is penalised for a high challenge on Rosenior. Free kick to Hull from 25 yards out. Jelavic takes it, oh dear, that was more like a rugby conversion. Awful effort.
  • 75'
    SubstitutionMaynor Figueroa Robert Koren
  • 74'
    Yellow Card Pablo Hernández
  • 74'
Koren is now on for Figueroa with Hull reverting back to their usual 5-3-2 formation. Aluko does well in the area and wins a corner for the Tigers.
  • 72'
Hull fans still in good voice as they look to carry their team to another home win. Just under 20 minutes remaining, Hull haven't looked like they'll to add to their one goal lead with Swansea pressing for an equaliser.
  • 69'
Swansea definitely on top now, Shelvey has another long range effort but this time it's high and wide. Immediately Routledge frees himself from Chester and lays the ball on a plate for Dyer but he drag a miserable shot wide of the post.
  • 67'
Routledge cuts in and runs at the Hull defence, he looks to slip in Hernandez down the right who plays it into Bony in the box. The Ivorian lays it off to Shelvey on the edge of the area who hits it first time, low and hard but Harper gets down to it well.
  • 66'
    SubstitutionMichu Pablo Hernández
  • 65'
So Aluko replaces Long, can the Nigerian help his side double their lead? Michu is also off, Hernandez come son for the big Spaniard.
  • 64'
    SubstitutionShane Long Sone Aluko
  • 63'
I think both managers need to look to their benches and inject some life into this game. Both look strong in defence but woeful going forward. Bony trying a back heel but it goes to no one much to Michu's frustration.
  • 61'
Penalty appeals by Swansea for a Livermore handball but Howard Webb waves play on. Correct decision.
  • 59'
A very even game so far with the stats highlighting exactly that. Hull have had seven shots to Swansea's six, while the home side also just edge possession with 51 per cent to the Swans 49.
  • 57'
Bony turns his man brilliantly near the half way line, he runs at the Hull defence but his pass to Michu is poor and Davies easily intercepts. They've looked quite ordinary going forward today, Swansea need to move the ball quicker if they want to equalise here.
  • 55'
A small injury time out for Figueroa who has a minor head injury.
  • 54'
It's a poor delivery by Shelvey, low and straight to Figueroa to clear. Hull counter at speed, Elmohamady delivers a great ball into the six yard box but no one is there. Jelavic needs to be getting onto those kind of deliveries.
  • 52'
Definitely a bit more purpose about Swansea this half. I'm sure Monk had a few choice words to say to his players at the break. Britton is fouled quite cynically by Meyler on the edge of the Hull area. Good chance this.
  • 50'
Hull have a corner after good pressure by Elmohamady on Chico. It falls to Meyler but he hesitates and Swansea get it away. Dyer is already causing the home side's defence problems, Swansea look to be playing a lot more direct with him on the pitch.
  • 48'
Monk has made a change at half time with Nathan Dyer replacing Jonathan De Guzman. He's immediately into the action, whipping in a cross from the right toward Bony but Davies nods it away.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionJonathan De Guzmán Nathan Dyer
  • 46'
The Tigers kick off looking to build on their lead before the interval.
  • The players are back out on the pitch, we'll be back underway shortly.
  • Swansea have looked good on the break with De Guzman and Bony wasting their best chances. Nether side have played particularly but Hull have created more and probably deserve to be leading.
  • HALFTIME: There's the whistle for the break. Hull have their noses in front thanks to George Boyd. After a three game absence due to suspension, the winger nodded in a Rosenior cross to gift his side the lead.
  • 45'
Swansea now looking to hit Hull on the break but the home side are looking strong in defence, Davies heading another long ball to Bony away.
  • 43'
Williams leads with his hand and Hull have another free kick. Can they double their lead before the break? No, Boyd's delivery is good but Meyler can't keep his effort down.
  • 41'
    Yellow Card Jonjo Shelvey
  • 41'
STAT ATTACK: The Swans are on a 10-game winless run on their travels. Their last victory on the road in the Premier League came on 23 November (2-1 v Fulham).
  • 39'
    Assist Liam Rosenior
  • 39'
    Goal George Boyd
GOAL! George Boyd marks his return to the starting lineup with a goal. A great cross from Rosenior from the right is met by Boyd who out jumps Angel and powers his header past Vorm.
  • 38'
Little sloppy by Meyler on the edge of the area, Bony latches onto it but he drags his error horribly wide. That's what the first half has been like so far.
  • 36'
Shelvey does well to nick the ball in the middle and looks to play it long to Bony. Th Ivorian is unable to control it and Hull break with Elmohamady winning a corner for the home side.
  • 34'
The sun has just made an appearance, the conditions are perfect but the play hasn't been so far. Jelavic slips the ball through to Long, Rangel slips and it falls to Long again but Vorm gets it away.
  • 32'
Good effort by the ex-Everton man, up and over the wall but also over the bar, but only just. Swansea survive on that occasion.
  • 31'
Free kick for Hull, Chico is deemed to have fouled Long on the edge of the area and it's Jelavic who looks set to take it.
  • 29'
This has pre season friendly written all over it at the moment. Hull playing it short for Long but the Irishman has nowhere to go and is tackled by Williams as another attack breaks down.
  • 27'
CHANCE: Great through ball by Routledge which De Guzman latches onto, having scored two last week you'd think he'd bury this but instead of hitting it early he cuts back inside and gets dispossessed by Figueroa.
  • 25'
Another corner, but another poor delivery by Boyd. The game getting a little stuck in midfield at the moment, neither side able to fashion a clear cut chance.
  • 23'
Swansea look very comfortable at the moment, even when defending they seem to nullify Hull's attacking threat with ease. Williams looks long toward Bony who is unable to bring it down on his chest and Davies gets it away.
  • 21'
Boyd has looked bright down the left hand side, Long releases him but his low 20-yard shot is well held at the near post by Vorm.
  • 19'
Still a very open game but neither side has been able to find the breakthrough. The home side do have a corner, Boyd swings it in but Williams heads it away to safety.
  • 17'
Great play by Routledge on the left hand side, he drives past Rosenior and delivers a dangerous ball into the six yard box but Bony is just inches away from getting a decisive touch. The Welsh side are gradually taking control.
  • 15'
STAT ATTACK: The Tigers have only drawn one of their last 15 league matches (W4, D1, L10). So it can't stay 0-0 surely?
  • 13'
Michu looks a little behind the action at the moment, having only just returned from injury it may be a while before we see him back to his best.  Throw in to Hull near the halfway line.
  • 11'
Swansea moving the ball nice and quickly as they look to breach the Hull defence. The Tigers though are sitting very deep and look to be playing on the counter attack using Long's pace up front.
  • 9'
GREAT SAVE: Figueroa delivers an absolute peach of a cross from the left, it drops perfectly for Long just six yards out but Vorm makes a great low save to deny the Hull striker. Corner for the Tigers.
  • 7'
Michu turns Davies but is brought down recklessly near the halfway line and the Swans have a free kick. Routledge whips in a ball from the right, De Guzman controls and lays the ball off for Michu but the Spaniard blazes over. Better by the away side.
  • 5'
It'll be interesting to see how Hull cope without Huddlestone today who has been such a key figure this season for them. Swansea already settled and passing the ball around with confidence and have won a corner off Figueroa.
  • 3'
Great atmosphere in the opening moments here, with Hull making a positive start. Elmohamady has had a few crosses cleared but it already looks a very open game.
  • 1'
And we're off, Swansea get us going in their familiar all white strip.
  • The players are out on the pitch, we'll be underway shortly.
  • Swansea manager Garry Monk names an unchanged team from the one that beat Norwich City 3-0 last weekend, with both Michu and Bony starting.
  • Maynor Figueroa, comes in for Alex Bruce as his dad switches to a 4-4-2 formation, having used 5-3-2 most of the season. Steve Harper will continue in goal for the hosts despite Allan McGregor leaving hospital this week.
  • For Hull George Boyd comes straight back into the side for Tom Huddlestone after completing his three-match suspension for spitting at Man City goalkeeper Joe Hart.
  • SUBS: Tremmel, Taylor, Amat, Canas, Hernandez, Dyer, Lita
  • SWANSEA: Vorm; Rangel, Chico Flores, Williams, Davies; Britton, Shelvey; De Guzman, Routledge, Michu; Bony
  • SUBS: Jakupovic, Bruce, Koren, Fryatt, Sagbo, Aluko, Quinn
  • HULL: Harper; Rosenior, Chester, Davies, Figueroa; Elmohamady; Meyler, Livermore, Boyd; Jelavic, Long
  • Without too much pressure on either side, we should be in for an exciting match this afternoon. But before we go any further, let's have a look at how both teams are lining up, starting with the home side.
  • Swansea have improved since they went out of Europe and under Garry Monk have edged slowly but surely to safety. But they are on a 10-game winless streak on their travels. Their last victory on the road in the Premier League came on 23 November (2-1 v Fulham).
  • Hull manager Steve Bruce will have one eye on the FA Cup semi-final but with a run in that includes heavyweights Arsenal, Man Utd and Everton, today would be the ideal time to get their tenth win of the season, something Bruce himself earmarked at the beginning of the season as enough to keep them up. All his players will be desperate to be involved at Wembley so will be looking to impress before they face Sheffield Utd.
  • In truth this afternoon's result shouldn't have too much of an impact on either team, with both sides a healthy seven points clear of the bottom three. However, I'm sure both managers will want to bag all three points today so they can start planning for next season as soon as possible.
  • Hello and welcome to this evening's LIVE play-by-play commentary of the Premier League as Hull City host Swansea City here at the KC Stadium. My name is Greg Taylor and I'll be guiding you through all the action.
