Live Commentary

  • That's it from me, I've been Greg Taylor, thanks for being with us, have a good evening.
  • FULL TIME: That's it. Swansea get a valuable three points thanks to Shelvey's deflected strike and Chico's cheeky header. They're up to 10th in the league table but Fulham remain in 17th position with just 19 points.
  • 90' + 4'
Almost up. The Swansea supporters are singing in delight at seeing a home league win for the first time this year.
  • 90' + 2'
There will be four minutes of injury time. Fulham players are already thinking about what games they'll be playing on their tablets on the coach home.
  • 90' + 1'
    Yellow Card Wilfried Bony
  • 90' + 1'
CHANCE! Great opportunity for Bent to get on the scoresheet. Williams plays a clearance straight into him, Bent charges it down and is one on one with Tremmel but drags his shot wide. Poor finish by the former Villa man.
  • 89'
Few handbags between Britton and Kacaniklic but the referee tells them to get on with it.
  • 88'
    SubstitutionJonathan De Guzmán Pozuelo
  • 87'
Swansea have been excellent this half, they look a different side to the first. But Dyer has been key in stretching Fulham and going past Richardson. Swans fans cheer whenever he receives the ball.
  • 85'
Muamer Tankovic comes on for Berbatov. Not his finest night on a football pitch, but he's not alone there. Fulham have been dreadful this half. Throw in to Fulham on the far side.
  • 83'
    SubstitutionD. Berbatov Muamer Tankovic
  • 83'
Fulham look a beaten side now. Swansea are pushing for a third to put this game to bed. Dyer passes inside to Bony but his shot is high and wide.
  • 81'
Fact: Fulham have gone 18 matches without a draw in the league, winning five and losing 13. Make that 19.
  • 79'
    SubstitutionJonjo Shelvey Jordi Amat
  • 79'
Swansea immediately break, Dyer gets beyond Richardson again, crosses but it's blocked and Swansea have a corner. Nothing comes of it and Fulham have a goal kick.
  • 77'
WHAT A MISS! Duff floats in a great cross from a free kick, Berbatov leaps and can simply head the ball past Tremmel but he connects with it poorly and it goes way over. Very out of character for the ever cool Bulgarian.
  • 75'
    Assist Jonathan De Guzmán
  • 75'
    Goal Chico
GOAL! Simple but so effective. Routledge with the free kick and Chico Flores is there to head the ball past Stekelenburg to double the home side's lead. Looks like a big three points for the Welsh side.
  • 75'
    Yellow Card Kieran Richardson
  • 74'
The game has gone a little flat in the last five minutes. But Dyer has looked excellent since coming on and could prove to be a huge player in the Swans fight against relegation. He has drawn a foul from Richardson and Swansea have a free kick.
  • 73'
Poor from Parker. He gets into the Swansea box and has three Fulham players waiting for a simple pass but he plays it straight to Williams who clears. Berbatov's reaction summed up their night so far.
  • 71'
    SubstitutionClint Dempsey Damien Duff
  • 71'
Swansea as it stands will rise to 10th in the league table if they can hold on to this win. It's so close at the bottom with just six points separating 10th to 20th.
  • 69'
GREAT SAVE! De Guzman gets into space and shoots from 20 yards out, it's going into the top left hand corner but Stekelenburg tips it over. Great stuff by the Dutch keeper.
  • 67'
Here come Swansea again. Routledge sees Dyer make a great run on the opposite flank, he plays a cross field ball into him but it's slightly over hit. Almost brilliant. Stekelenburg has a goal kick.
  • 65'
Really good atmosphere inside the Liberty Stadium now. The home side have been excellent in this second half and the fans are urging them to go and score another.
  • 63'
How will the Cottagers respond? Bent has just come on so this could get interesting now. Berbatov rolls it to Dempsey on the left who cuts in but shoots well wide. First time they've been near the Swansea goal all half.
  • 61'
    Assist Nathan Dyer
  • 61'
    Goal Jonjo Shelvey
GOAL! And it has been coming. It's been all Swansea since half time and Shelvey puts the Swans into a deserved lead. Not the best goal but they'll take it. Dyer holds it up and lays it off to Shelvey on the edge of the area whose deflected shot flies past Stekelenburg and into the net.
  • 59'
    SubstitutionAshkan Dejagah Darren Bent
  • 59'
I have no idea what Laudrup said in the dressing room, but it's working. Swansea look like they're going to score.
  • 58'
    SubstitutionPablo Hernández Nathan Dyer
  • 57'
De Guzman receives the ball in the middle of the field, no one closes him down and runs at the Fulham defence. He shoots hard and low but Stekelenburg gets down to it and holds onto it.
  • 55'
Laudrup looks to be readying Nathan Dyer. They definitely need an injection of pace and Dyer was in great form before he picked up his ankle injury. Can he help them grab an all important win.
  • 53'
OFF THE LINE! Closest either side have come to scoring. Great header by Bony is cleared off the line by Riether. Fulham survive, just. Swansea mounting some pressure, Fulham haven't got going since the break.
  • 51'
Not much to cheer about so far for Swans fans. They haven't won in eight league matches, their longest-ever run in the Premier League without a victory.
  • 49'
Another wasted attack. A neat one two by Bony and Routledge creates space for Shelvey but his pass is over hit and Stekelenburg collects.
  • 47'
No changes at the break as both sides go looking for a big win in their fight for survival. Swansea start well, doing what they do best, passing the ball around.
  • 46'
We're back underway, with Swansea kicking off.
  • The players are back out on the pitch so we'll be underway shortly.
  • First Half Stats: The Swans dominated possession seeing 62% of the ball, and had seven shots compared to Fulham's eight. The away side had three on target, one more than the home team.
  • Rene Meulensteen will be happy if things stay as they are, his side look fresh and good on the break, but Swansea will surely increase the pressure as they game goes on.
  • HALF TIME: There's the whistle for the break. Not a classic and both sides look a little stifled by the occasion. Jonjo Shelvey came closest when he thumped his effort onto the cross bar but apart from that neither side have created a clear cut opportunity.
  • 45'
Both sides just running down the clock before half time as Stekelenburg takes a goal kick. There will be one minute of stoppage time.
  • 44'
CLOSE! Dempsey gets the run on Williams and hits a good low shot at Tremmel but it's slightly deflected and Fulham have a corner.
  • 42'
Swansea have really picked up here. Hernandez beats Richardson but his cross is intercepted and Swansea have a corner. It's not a great delivery and Fulham clear. But the Swans are definitely ending the half the stronger of the two sides.
  • 40'
CROSS BAR! Better from Swansea, Britton plays it inside to Shelvey who hits it brilliantly from 25 yards out onto the crossbar. By far the closest either side have come. Swansea have a corner.
  • 38'
Swansea are now resulting to hoofing it long to Bony. He may be good in the air but I don't think the Ivorian is enjoying the poor service.
  • 36'
Richardson takes a corner, it falls to Dempsey but he scuffs his shot and Tremmel gets both hands on the ball. Swansea looking very average at the moment, concerning for Laudrup. He'll need to change this at half time.
  • 34'
Swansea are definitely on the back foot here. They've lost it again in the middle and Parker feeds Kacaniklic. The young Swede delvers another peach of a cross but Dempsey doesn't time his jump and heads wide.
  • 32'
CHANCE! Best bit of play by Fulham by far. Berbatov holds it up brilliantly and feeds Kacaniklic on the left. He skips past Chico and crosses to Dejagah but the Iranian heads straight into the arms of Tremmel. Fulham have a corner as Williams blocks a Dempsey shot.
  • 30'
Both sides appear to be very nervous to commit going forward. It has a tight relegation scrap written all over it. We're 30 minutes in and it's still 0-0 in this vital match.
  • 28'
Richardson whips in another free kick from a similar position as before but this time it goes out for a goal kick. Still no clear cut chance created by either side. Meulensteen will be the happier of the two managers so far.
  • 26'
Dempsey has looked good so far. He keeps dropping in to pick up the ball and dictate play. At the moment Swansea are unable to pick him up as he almost slips Berbatov through.
  • 24'
Lovely idea by Shelvey. He threads a beautiful 40 yard ball through to Routledge who almost beats Stekelenburg to the ball.
  • 22'
Bony receive sit on the edge of the box, turns well but his shot is charged down. Angel puts in a dangerous cross but no one is there to meet it and Fulham break.
  • 20'
CHANCE! Great delivery by Richardson from a free kick into Hangeland who heads over from six yards out. He should have done better with that. Good spell by Fulham, they're now dominating possession and have a corner.
  • 18'
CLOSE! Great delivery from a free kick about 30 yards out, Williams is coming in at the back post but Dempsey holds him off well and Fulham survive. If Williams had got a touch it'd be 1-0.
  • 17'
Shelvey shows a little frustration after missing that chance and leaves a leg in on Parker. Not brilliant from either side as of yet.
  • 15'
FACT: Swansea have conceded the opening goal in their Premier League fixtures 14 times this season, only opponents Fulham have conceded more with 15. So we should expect dreadful defending and a lot of goals.
  • 13'
The game really stuck in the middle of the pitch. Good passing but both sides are easily breaking up play. Finally the Swans get in behind, lovely cutback from Hernandez falls to Shelvey who blasts over. Not his best strike.
  • 11'
Fulham now have some possession of their own, but like their fellow strugglers, are unable to create a chance. Swansea have the first attempt on goal, Routledge crosses in from the left but Bony heads well over. Only a half chance in truth.
  • 9'
Swansea are trying to feed Bony quickly at every opportunity but he's having to drop deep to receive the ball and the Fulham defenders easily snuff out the danger. He's in good form the big Ivorian, six goals since the turn of the year.
  • 7'
Swansea and Laudrup will be desperate for a win tonight. They've been on the slide for a few months now and have won just two of their last 16 Premier League home matches. They continue to dominate possession but create very little. Free kick to Fulham on the halfway line.
  • 5'
Meulensteen has set his side up very deep, they look to be playing on the counter. Swansea have seen all the ball so far but can't create an opening. But a positive start by The Swans.
  • 3'
The Swans just passing it around as usual, some nice touches, but not got in behind Fulham yet. Fulham have a throw on the left hand side at the halfway line.
  • 1'
And we're underway, Fulham kick off.
  • The players are out on the pitch, we'll be underway shortly.
  • Earlier this week Meulensteen said that he expected Dimitar Berbatov to stay with the club because there had been no interest. Is he key to survival or would Fulham fans be happy to see the back of him?
  • It was 2-1 to Swansea when these two sides met at Craven Cottage in November. The Swans have only won once in 10 league matches since then, while Fulham have just three wins from their 10 fixtures since.
  • So, Rene Meulensteen goes back to the side that faced Arsenal 10 days ago. No excuses for the starters then, they've had a nice break.
  • SUBS: Stockdale, Hughes, Christensen, Duff, Tankovic, Bent, Rodallega
  • FULHAM: Stekelenburg; Riether, Hangeland, Burn, Richardson; Dejagah, Parker, Sidwell, Kacaniklic; Dempsey; Berbatov
  • SUBS: Cornell, Amat, Taylor, Dyer, Lamah, Pozuelo, Vazquez
  • SWANSEA CITY: Tremmel; Rangel, Chico, Williams, Davies; Britton, de Guzman, Shelvey, Routledge; Hernandez, Bony
  • Before we go any further, let's have a look at how both sides are lining up, starting with the home side.
  • Fulham meanwhile haven't won since New Year's Day, and have conceded 22 goals in their last six top-flight matches. They have let in 48 in the league alone this season, which is 10 more than any other side, and means their goal difference stands at a hopeless -26. Not great reading for Fulham fans.
  • Swansea have faced Man City, Man Utd and Spurs in their last three games, losing all three and Michael Laudrup will expect his side to get back on track with a home win tonight but they have won just two of their last 16 Premier League home matches.
  • Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has new signing, striker David Ngog, available after his arrival from Bolton. He can also welcome back Nathan Dyer, Jonathan de Guzman and Jonjo Shelvey from injury. Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen will rally the changes after fielding a completely different starting 11 for the FA Cup match with Sheffield United.
  • Hello and welcome to this evening's LIVE play-by-play commentary of the Premier League meeting between two sides at the bottom of the table as Swansea face Fulham. My name is Greg Taylor and I'll be guiding you through all the action.
