  • And that's all from our afternoon's work here. Thanks for joining us for this Premier League fixture. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
  • That result shoots Mark Hughes' men up into fifth place in the Premier League. Not bad for an afternoon's work.
  • It's FULL-TIME at Upton Park and Stoke have picked up a superb 1-0 win over West Ham thanks to that stunning Jermaine Pennant free kick. The visitors dominated for large periods but the Hammers had a much better second half; sadly for them, they just didn't have enough up front today.
  • 90' + 4'
    Yellow Card James Collins
  • 90' + 4'
Collins is penalised for a high foot and is furious with the referee, earning himself a booking for dissent. This may add on a few more seconds...
  • 90' + 3'
The hosts are pressing hard but still can't find a way through. One minute to go.
  • 90' + 2'
Nolan goes down after a 50-50 challenge with Wilson, but the referee penalises the Stoke man and West Ham have a freekick. Demel heads the ball on and it flicks off Huth's right foot, but Begovic is there to tidy up.
  • 90'
Stoke have a throw in their own half as the board goes up to indicate there will be four minutes added on at the end of the match.
  • 89'
Stoke have a free kick on halfway and, understandably, are taking their time over it. The ball is eventually lofted into the box and it's cleared back out towards Nzonzi. The visitors eventually give it away and Pennant fouls Demel in midfield.
  • 88'
    SubstitutionMohamed Diame Elliott Lee
  • 87'
There's been a clash of heads between Nzonzi and Diame so there's a brief respite and a chance for the Hammers to regroup, with Elliot Lee looking like making his Premier League debut.
  • 85'
    Yellow Card Geoff Cameron
  • 85'
West Ham need a quick reply if they are to get anything from this game. That's the first goal they've conceded this season, but they've rarely threatened Begovic in the Stoke net.
  • 84'
    SubstitutionMark Noble Jack Collison
  • 83'
Chance at the other end as O'Brien tries a bending effort from outside the box, but he gets under it and the ball flies over.
  • 82'
    Goal Jermaine Pennant
PENNANT SCORES!! STOKE LEAD!! It's a stunning free kick from the substitute, as he steps up and bends it over the wall and right into the corner. What a goal to break the deadlock!
  • 81'
    Yellow Card Winston Reid
  • 80'
Jermaine Pennant has looked lively since his introduction, and he drives down the left before squaring to fellow sub Glenn Whelan, who tries to shoot first time but completely misses the ball and West Ham clear. The Potters come back, though, and Whelan is brought down on the edge of the box by Diame.
  • 78'
Jones is dispossessed by Noble, who then loses his footing and concedes possession. Pieters crosses early and Walters tries a header from the edge of the box but it's nowhere near the target.
  • 77'
Can the two subs find a winner? They have just over ten minutes to do so.
  • 76'
    SubstitutionMatthew Etherington Jermaine Pennant
  • 76'
    SubstitutionCharlie Adam Glenn Whelan
  • 75'
Morrison darts forward with real intent and exchanges passes with Maiga, but his ball out to Jarvis goes straight to Cameron and Stoke have possession as Mark Hughes readies a double change.
  • 73'
Adam finds Pieters on the left-hand side and the defender gets in a good position again, only to overhit the ball in once again.
  • 72'
Morrison's touch is heavy in midfield but he shows real determination to win the ball back. He's injected some liveliness into the Hammers' midfield.
  • 70'
Jarvis' corner is cleared initially but it's prodded back to Reid, who tries a volley with his left foot which floats over the bar.
  • 69'
This is a good spell of passing from West Ham, who are probing and looking for a way through. Eventually Diame gives up and has a left-footed shot from the edge of the box which deflects wide of goal.
  • 68'
West Ham have a throw deep in the Stoke half but O'Brien takes an age to look for movement before being forced to throw backwards, but the hosts still have possession at least.
  • 66'
Nzonzi is the latest to try his luck from range, blasting a 30-yard strike over the bar after more sloppy play in midfield from West Ham.
  • 65'
Etherington drives a good pass wide to Pieters on the left, and the defender squares it to Wilson, who hammers a low effort well wide of Jaaskelainen's post.
  • 63'
    SubstitutionStewart Downing Ravel Morrison
  • 63'
Maiga is down in pain after a fairly innocuous challenge. He might have just wanted a break. Meanwhile, Allardyce is readying Ravel Morrison.
  • 62'
Less than half an hour to go at Upton Park, and this is a much more even contest now. Will we see a goal, though?
  • 60'
Brilliant defending by Collins! Nzonzi steals it from Nolan and Stoke have four-on-two. The midfielder lays it into the path of Etherington, but Collins comes back to challenge the Potters midfielder and avert the danger. Excellent stuff.
  • 59'
West Ham have a free kick 35 yards from goal, and Noble lifts it into the box short for Nolan, who lays off to Demel. The defender's touch is strong but he does well to win a corner which Stoke clear at the second attempt.
  • 57'
There's another promising move from the Potters, with good work from Etherington to lay it back to Walters, but the Ireland man tries an effort from distance which flies over and into the stand.
  • 56'
Stoke again get into a good position through Adam on the left, but yet again the final ball lets them down as his cross zips straight through the danger area and out for a throw.
  • 54'
The hosts have another free kick in midfield and Collins drills the ball into the area. Reid, undeterred by that earlier landing, goes up to beat Pieters at the far post but can only head over.
  • 52'
Play gets back underway and Reid rejoins the action. Collins' free kick is cleared and Stoke break. There's an unfortunate incident as the referee cleans out Noble as he tracks back! The Potters' attack comes to nothing as Pieters plays in a poor cross, much to the relief of the referee, I would imagine...
  • 51'
Thankfully, Reid is up on his feet and it doesn't look as serious as first thought.
  • 50'
Reid has gone down in a heap after an aerial challenge with Jones. The defender is in some pain after landing awkwardly on his left shoulder.
  • 48'
Stoke break forward and Adam spreads it wide with a lovely ball to Cameron on the right. The defender tries to drill in a cross but it comes off O'Brien and goes behind. Etherington's ball goes straight through to Shawcross but the defender wasn't expecting it and it comes off him and rolls to Jaaskelainen.
  • 47'
Demel is felled by Adam, but Noble's short free kick doesn't find Nolan on the edge of the box. The Hammers recover, though, and Noble spreads it wide to Demel, whose cross is way overhit and runs out for a throw on the far side.
  • 46'
We're back underway as Stoke get the ball rolling for the second half, and it's as you were with no changes at the break.
  • We're moments away from the restart at Upton Park. It's set up nicely for the second half and it'll be interesting to see if West Ham can swing the momentum in their favour after an inevitable roasting from Allardyce.
  • Elswehere, it's 0-0 in all the other 3pm BST kick-offs in the Premier League. Not a classic day so far, then, but surely we'll see some goals in the second half?
  • West Ham are really missing the presence of Andy Carroll up front, while Jones is doing exactly that job for Stoke so far this afternoon. Will Sam Allardyce be tempted to change things around? He has youngsters Ravel Morrison and Elliot Lee at his disposal.
  • That's HALF-TIME at a sunny Upton Park and we've yet to see a goal this afternoon, but Stoke will be the happier of the two sides after dominating much of the opening 45 minutes. Maiga had the best chance of the half for the hosts but fluffed his header. Still all to play for here, though.
  • 45' + 1'
Downing swings in a corner from the right, and Reid  flicks it on but Begovic gets there ahead of Nolan. It looks like Huth came out of that challenge with Reid in a bit of pain.
  • 45'
Huth produces a no-nonsense clearance to get rid of a Jarvis cross as we enter one minute of added time.
  • 44'
Adam bursts forward but Collins slides in with a committed challenge to win the ball back. The hosts push down the right but Jarvis concedes a foul.
  • 42'
Good pressure from Kevin Nolan sees Ryan Shawcross give the ball away, but Downing's cross evades everyone in the box. The Hammers retain it on the far side but a loose pass from Noble goes out for a throw.
  • 41'
Jones is struggling after going in hard for a challenge with Collins. The striker has been excellent so far today and will be desperate to continue, and looks happy to do so for now.
  • 39'
Cameron fires one of his exocet-like throws forward and Jones wins it, but he and Walters can't link up and it goes back to West Ham, who are just starting to enjoy more possession.
  • 37'
Jarvis, who has switched wings with Downing, produces some good skill to keep the ball away from two defenders before floating it into the box, but Begovic powers out of his goal to collect comfortably.
  • 36'
West Ham are in possession, but Stoke look disciplined and all the play is in front of the Potters at the moment.
  • 34'
Great chance! And it's West Ham who get it. Jarvis swings a lovely ball in from the right and Maiga has a glorious chance, but completely fluffs the header and Begovic is untroubled.
  • 33'
There's an element of frustration creeping into the stands at Upton Park. It's been a poor start from the home side, but the ever-solid defence has held firm so far.
  • 31'
Noble is caught short by Nzonzi, who steals the ball in midfield and drives forward before drilling a 25-yard effort way wide of the post.
  • 29'
Etherington swings the ball in and Huth does well to head it on, but the big defender strayed offside when the kick was taken and West Ham can clear.
  • 28'
Stoke are still moving it aroud well, in a manner we haven't seen in recent years. Walters receives the ball and is cleaned out from behind by Joey O'Brien. The referee has a word with the defender but the yellow card stays in his pocket for now.
  • 26'
Diame looks to step things up a gear, breaking down the left but it's Jones - of all people - who gets back to stop the midfielder in his tracks and win a throw for the visitors.
  • 25'
Collins clears another Stoke cross, this time from Etherington on the left. Adam then completely shanks a pass backwards and it goes for a throw.
  • 24'
West Ham need some inspiration from somewhere. Jones and co. are bossing it at the moment and the hosts look slightly lacking up front.
  • 22'
Double save from Jaaskelainen! Adam sees a shot blocked but Wilson volleys superbly from the rebound 30 yards away. Jaaskelainen can only parry it and Walters follows in quickest, only to see the goalkeeper recover brilliantly and smother the shot.
  • 21'
Nzonzi does really well to keep hold of the ball in midfield and spreads it wide to Jonathan Walters, whose cross is cleared by Winston Reid. Stoke press forward again but it's Collins' turn to clear this time.
  • 19'
Diame loses out in midfield and Stoke have possession in their own half. They're looking very comfortable on the ball right now.
  • 17'
Stoke, however, are playing some attractive passing football; far more attractive than their grey away kit, anyway. The Hammers manage to win the ball back, though, and Noble spreads it wide to Demel before Stewart Downing swings a dangerous ball in. A few claims of handball go up against Geoff Cameron as it bounces up and hits him, but nothing is given
  • 16'
West Ham haven't got into their stride yet. The defence is holding firm for now, though, as Guy Demel guides the ball back to the goalkeeper with his chest.
  • 14'
Charlie Adam shows a good turn of pace to run away from Mark Noble and push towards the box, but the West Ham midfielder ends up conceding the free kick, which Adam swings low around the wall straight into the arms of Jaaskelainen.
  • 13'
Chance for West Ham as Diame darts in from the left this time before unleashing a strong low strike from the edge of the box, but there are so many defenders in the way it's blocked and Stoke clear.
  • 12'
It's all about Kenwyne Jones at the moment. Steven Nzonzi chips the ball into the box and the Stoke striker rises high to meet it, but it goes straight to Jaaskelainen.
  • 10'
Jones bursts free behind the West Ham defence and tries to get a shot away but James Collins gets back superbly to challenge the Stoke man and put him off as his shot flies straight into the stands.
  • 8'
It's been a promising start from the visitors, and Jones does well to win a corner. The striker then puts Jussi Jasskelainen under immense pressure from the corner, but the West Ham shot-stopper keeps hold of the ball very well.
  • 6'
Matthew Etherington and Erik Pieters link up well on the left, and the latter fires in a superb cross but can't find anyone and West Ham clear easily.
  • 5'
Mohamed Diame is looking lively already, and he tries to cut inside from the left and fire a shot toward goal but he hits it all wrong and ends up going out for a throw.
  • 4'
Marc Wilson is limping already. Just a show that this could be quite a hard-fought battle today.
  • 2'
It's a snappy start to the game as both sides exchange possession quickly. Matt Jarvis is caught offise and Asmir Begovic has a chance to launch the ball forward for Stoke.
  • 1'
And we're underway at Upton Park.
  • We're moments away from the start of what promises to be a fascinating Premier League encounter this afternoon. Who's your money on?
  • Alex Ward is at Upton Park this afternoon, and I'm pretty sure I can guess who he's backing: "Mark Hughes has never won here as a manager, and West Ham look the smart money in today's contest. Stoke have managed just one win in their last 12 games on the road, and they face a side that have allowed only one shot on target so far this season."
  • So, no Alou Diarra for West Ham, with the midfielder looking to be out for the rest of the season after picking up a knee ligament injury in midfield. The Hammers are still without Andy Carroll but Stoke, meanwhile, welcome Peter Crouch back to the bench but Kenwyne Jones gets the nod up front.
  • STOKE CITY: Begovic; Cameron, Shawcross, Huth, Pieters; Walters, Nzonzi, Wilson, Adam, Etherington; Jones. // Subs: Sorensen, Muniesa, Whelan, Pennant, Assaidi, Crouch, Jerome.
  • WEST HAM: Jaaskelainen; Demel, O'Brien, Collins, Reid; Noble, Diame, Nolan; Downing, Jarvis; Maiga. // Subs: Adrian, Rat, Tomkins, Collison, Taylor, Morrison, Lee.
  • The teams are in, so let's break out the line-ups, starting with the hosts...
  • Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE coverage of today's Premier League encounter between West Ham and Stoke City at Upton Park. The hosts look strong this season, keeping two clean sheets in their first two fixtures, while the Potters registered their first win of the season against Crystal Palace last weekend.
