There's some good debate going on over at our Twitter page. Now, @GraemeAPoole has this to say:

"Eng vs Fra over 3.5 goals x Sweden (-1) @ 35/1...not often you find as credible a 35/1 double as that #goalbet"

Well, Silts81, I think you make a very good point. Mexes and Rami, despite being the standard pairing for France in Central defence, may find Carroll too much if he does come on late in the game.

Whilst @Silts81 says:

"thoughts on andy carroll LGS? Not sure their CBs will fancy him in the last 15 if we're chasing..."

So back over on Twitter we have another prediction. This time from @Kop_Kenny

"My prediction will go in England's favour. France 0 vs 3 England"

So our resident tipster, Adam Bate, thinks a narrow victory may be possible for England. On Twitter. @PreMatchSpiel says:

"Will HAPPILY take a financial hit for that result!"

Wouldn't we all, wouldn't we all...

Despite a lack of support or belief in this England side, the game could quite easily be a tight affair - Roy Hodgson sides are always well organised in defence after all - so maybe a look at the handicaps is better value. Whilst you can take France -1 at 9/2 and England +1 at 4/9, I think the value is really in the tie (England +1) at 3/1. This means that France would have to beat England by just the one goal in Donetsk. Very possible one thinks.

11/06/2012

So England goal scorers seem pretty well priced to score first; the bookies and the, usually patriotic, British betting public seem to be taking on the boys in white tonight. Maybe the value lies in an anytime scorer though; after all, set plays may be one of our strong points.

Anytime Scorer:

John Terry - 12/1
Joleon Lescott - 16/1

Koscielny - 12/1
Mexes - 16/1

11:18 BST

11/06/2012

Let's take a look at some of the early markets for the England game then. Here's the top of the first goal scorer market where Karim Benzema leads the way:

Karim Benzema - 5/1
Olivier Giroud - 11/2
Danny Welbeck - 8/1
Franck Ribery - 8/1
Andy Carroll - 17/2
Ashley Young - 9/1
Samir Nasri - 9/1
Steven Gerrard 9/1

Where is your money going?

Fellow betting aficionado Simon Pilkington has responded to the selection tht Zlatan Ibrahimovic - or "Zibra" as we will be calling him - has about as much chance of winning the Golden Boot as one Aleksandr Kerzhakov. For those of you who missed the Russia game "doing a Kerzakhov" has now made it's way into footballing folklore and not for the right reasons. A bit harsh on Kerza that?

10:53 BST

11/06/2012

Sweden starting XI: Isaksson; Lustig, Mellberg, Granqvist, M Olsson; Larsson, Kallstrom, Elm, Tovoinen; Ibrahimovic; Rosenberg - this lot are 9/5 with Bet365 to beat Ukraine tonight - can Zlatan Ibrahimovic make his mark in his first game? He's 33/1 to finish as the tournament's top goalscorer

10:36 BST

11/06/2012

If you prefer your predictions to come from farm animals - we've got Kev the psychic Chicken in Kiev on the case for tonight's games. Now, his poultry predictions have been a bit fowl so far but we think he could be onto something tonight.... Watch him make his selections here

10:30 BST

11/06/2012

Artturi Ahola on Twitter suggests that Sweden should be favourites for tonight's game against co-hosts Ukraine - Bet365 have the home side as 13/8 favourites with Sweden out at 9/5. It looks as if there's some value in the Swedes according to those prices, what do you think? Let us know on Twitter @GoalBetting.

10:24 BST

11/06/2012

Slight move from Bet365 who now go 11/8 on France for victory tonight - how long before the value is gone? Will we see a drift on the favourites around lunchtime as we have done on Russia and Germany in the last few days
