WEST BROM 0-2 ARSENAL - ALEXIS GOAL

GOAL: Disaster! Another piece of comedy defending undermines Sunderland as Vito Mannone - against his former club - mis-controls in his six-yard box to leave Alexis Sanchez to tap into an empty net. That caps a good day for Arsenal.

LIVERPOOL 0-0 HULL - PENALTY??? NOPE!

Huge appeals for a penalty from the home fans as Mario Balotelli goes down under a challenge from Alex Bruce. There was some contact, but not enough for Neil Swarbrick to award a penalty. Into the final 90 seconds of normal time now.

SOUTHAMPTON 1-0 STOKE - PELLE CHANCE

Chris Baker reports: “Pelle yet again tries his luck but he slices his shot way over the bar. Southampton almost caught Stoke out on the break but Steven Davis delayed his pass and the momentum of the move broke down.”

Oh Birmingham! It’s getting embarrassing at St Andrew’s. Blues, down to 10 men after just seven minutes, are now losing 6-0 to Bournemouth. Elsewhere, Wolves have come from behind to lead against Leeds, while Neil Lennon is set for his second win as Bolton boss - they lead 2-1 against Brentford.

LIVERPOOL 0-0 HULL - HOSTS STRUGGLING

Tom Maston reports: “Rain has begun to fall at Anfield and Liverpool have come no closer to finding that illusive goal. Rickie Lambert's introduction has allowed Raheem Sterling to find some space, but not one of the home attacking players has looked like providing the moment of magic the Reds require. Ten minutes to go.”

SUNDERLAND 0-1 ARSENAL - NERVY FINISH

Matthew Sherry reports: “Welbeck has just spurned the chance to seal the points, heading tamely over after being picked out by the marauding Nacho Monreal. You cannot help but feel some nervy moments are coming for Arsenal, who have dominated without killing the game off.”

SOUTHAMPTON 1-0 STOKE - DIOUF... SO CLOSE!

Chris Baker reports: “Diouf is inches away from connecting with Bardsley's cross from the right. Any contact from the ex-Manchester United striker would surely have levelled the scores here at 1-1. Southampton are getting a bit edgy now.”

Oh dear, oh dear. It’s a day of away surprises in the Championship. Birmingham have won just once in 24 home games, sacked their manager in midweek and are now 5-0 down to Bournemouth in front of their own supporters. Yikes. And Nottingham Forest now trail Blackburn 3-1.

SOUTHAMPTON 1-0 STOKE - SAINTS ON TOP

Chris Baker reports: “'Oh when the Saints go marching in!' reverberates around St.Mary's as Stoke look to put some passes together but Wanyama wins the ball back and Southampton charge forward in search of this elusive second goal that would surely put this match to bed.”

VIEW FROM THE STADIUM OF LIGHT

Matthew Sherry reports: “Things are just getting a little feisty at the Stadium of Light as Arsenal benefit from what Gus Poyet and the home crowd consider lenient refereeing from Kevin Friend. Unfortunately, the hosts' endeavour is not manifesting itself in chances of note.”

LIVERPOOL 0-0 HULL - LAMBERT AND COUTINHO ON

Brendan Rodgers has seen enough, replacing Joe Allen and Adam Lallana with Philippe Coutinho and Rickie Lambert. Mario Balotelli has a strike partner he can play alongside for the final 30 minutes. Prior to that, Steven Gerrard fired narrowly wide as the pressure begins to build on the Hull goal.

WEST BROM 1-2 CRYSTAL PALACE - SPERONI HEAD INJURY

Liam Twomey reports: “Chaos at the Hawthorns. Julian Speroni isn't strong enough to beat Victor Anichebe to Chris Brunt's corner delivery and the Nigerian heads the ball in, but the resumption of play is then delayed as it transpires that the Argentine has sustained a nasty blow to the head from Craig Dawson as the goal was scored. After lengthy examination he insists he is fit to carry on, but Neil Warnock is having none of it and replaces him with Wayne Hennessey.”
