CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

EFFORT! Fernando Torres gets involved right away with an ambitious overhead kick. The ball falls nicely for the Spaniard but he can’t connect cleanly enough around 15 yards out and ends up ballooning it way over.

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Final change for Chelsea as Fernando Torres replaces goalscorer Samuel Eto’o. Sunderland are beginning to up the pressure with a succession of corners. They’re yet to test Mark Schwarzer, though.

GLANCE AROUND THE GLOBE

Serie A leaders Juventus are on their way to the title again. Paul Pogba has scored to put Antonio Conte’s men ahead against relegation-threatened Bologna. Twenty minutes left in that one.

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Liam Twomey reports from Stamford Bridge: “Chelsea do not look much closer to a winning goal here and Jose Mourinho's anxiety is evident through his substitutions. Champions League heroes Demba Ba and Andre Schurrle have replaced the ineffective Oscar and Mohamed Salah. If the scoreline doesn't change soon, expect Fernando Torres to be next.”

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Nasty fall for Vito Mannone. Mark Schwarzer punts a long kick forward and Demba Ba challenges for it with Mannone on the edge of the Sunderland area. Mannone gets to it first to head away, but he lands awkwardly on his shoulder after colliding with Ba in the process. He’s back on his feet now and looks like he should be okay to continue.

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Substitutions all round. Sunderland bring on Emanuele Giaccherini and Jozy Altidore for Adam Johnson and Connor Wickham, while Mohamed Salah is replaced by Andre Schurrle for Chelsea.

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Fabio Borini and Sebastian Larsson combine on the edge of the area to set up Connor Wickham, but the striker slips over just as he looked to threaten the Chelsea defence. Then, straight down the other end of the pitch, Demba Ba slips after being played in by Willian and ends up slicing an effort wide from 10 yards. It’s a slippy pitch, that’s for sure...

STAT ATTACK

Opta: "Demba Ba has scored four goals in his last five appearances for Chelsea (all comps)."

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Aaaand that was Oscar’s last involvement in the match - on comes Demba Ba in his place.

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Lee Cattermole - yellow card. SHOCKER. The midfielder won’t let go of Oscar’s shirt as the Brazilian continues to use his much better ability as a footballer to run past the Sunderland man, who eventually pulls the Chelsea player down to the ground with a thud. Referee Mike Dean wastes no time in handing out a booking.

STAT ATTACK

Opta: "Chelsea have won 17 of their last 18 Barclays Premier League meetings with Sunderland (L1)."

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Brilliant build-up play by Chelsea, but another poor finish. Oscar and Willian are involved with some brilliant two-touch passing before Oscar’s 25-yard shot rolls straight into the arms of Vito Mannone.

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Ooooft. It should be 2-1 to Chelsea. Willian has Samuel Eto’o to his left and Mohamed Salah to his right as he bursts half the length of the pitch to launch a counter from a Sunderland corner. Salah looks the better option but instead he lays the ball left to Eto’o, who side-foots wide of the far corner. A wasted opportunity.

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Liam Twomey reports from Stamford Bridge: “Chelsea need a big 45 minutes because at the moment Sunderland are on course to snatch a second title-denting point within a week. Eden Hazard has been hugely missed in an uninspired first half and Mark Schwarzer appears less than convincing in goal. The question is, how much is Jose Mourinho prepared to risk?”

SECOND HALF

Here we go. Huge second half for both clubs. Can you imagine if Sunderland break Jose Mourinho’s unbeaten home record...? IMAGINE!

WEST HAM 0-1 CRYSTAL PALACE

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce: "We were pretty miserable in our finishing. Not even making the goalkeeper make more saves than he actually did was, apart from the penalty we gave away, my big disappointment. I always have sympathy [with the fans] by the fact is that I’m as frustrated as they are and I don’t want to see my team lose, particularly when we’re playing at home."

CHELSEA 1-1 SUNDERLAND

Liam Twomey reports from Stamford Bridge: “The groans are becoming gradually more audible around Stamford Bridge as the home fans grow increasingly frustrated with their team's lack of invention and creative movement in the final third. Sunderland are sitting deep and succeeding in their bid to stifle the Blues, who are resorting to increasingly wild shots from range.”
