Frank Beria coming across like a right idiot here, kicking off with Pienaar because the linesman didn't give a pen. Ok then...— Jay Jaffa (@jayjaffa) October 23, 2014
Lille are furious when a penalty is - quite rightly - not given for an apparent Leighton Baines handball. Steven Pienaar isn’t having any of it and Franck Beria goes all gangster by placing his head towards the midfielder. Both players booked. A fuss about nothing.
This might just be the best opportunity of the game. Divock Origi cuts inside from the left and a big space opens up for him to fizz a right-footed effort marginally wide of the far post from 20 yards out.
Nabil Bentaleb, Kyle Walker and Kyle Naughton are all out injured, but Federico Fazio - sent off at the weekend - retains his place at centre-back and is joined in the starting XI by Jan Vertonghen. As for Asteras Tripolis, TOMAS KOSICKY is in goal. Really.
Tottenham: Lloris; Dier, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies; Capoue, Dembele; Kane, Lamela, Townsend; Adebayor. Subs: Vorm, Chiriches, Chadli, Eriksen, Lennon, Stambouli, Soldado.
Peep! Peeeeeep! Away we go again...
Celtic, and particularly goalkeeper Craig Gordon, have been impressive in the Europa League. They’re top of Group D after a draw and win from their first two games and should have enough to dispose of an Astra Giurgiu side who have lost twice and conceded seven goals.
Celtic v Astra Giurgiu | Salzburg v Dinamo Zagreb
HNK Rijeka 0-0 Feyenoord
Standard Liege 0-0 Sevilla
Krasnodar 2-4 Wolfsburg (FT)
Lille 0-0 Everton
Young Boys 0-0 Napoli
Slovan Bratislava 0-0 Sparta Prague
Aalborg 2-0 Dynamo Kiev
Steaua Bucharest 2-0 Rio Ave
Dinamo Minsk 0-0 Guingamp
PAOK Salonika 0-1 Fiorentina
Trabzonspor 0-0 Lokeren
Thank you, referee, thank you. There goes the half-time whistle. We’ve had barely any chances to speak of. Idrissa Gueye fired wide for Lille midway through the first half, Divock Origi has looked good in stages and Samuel Eto’o had a half chance for Everton. And that, I’m afraid, is that.
...and the midfielder - wearing a headband from that earlier cut - blazes well, well, well over the bar from a free kick. A waste. This match has been very poor so far. It can only improve...
Beware: Asteras Tripolis are no mugs! Tottenham are yet to pick up a win so far after that moment of madness from Vlad Chiriches three weeks ago against Besiktas but their relatively unknown opponents tonight are group leaders with four points. You've been warned.

...it's now 3-1 to Wolfsburg against Krasnodar (17:00 BST kick-off), while Aalborg are ahead against Dinamo Kiev and Raul Rusescu has put Steaua Bucharest in front against Rio Ave. Rusescu is now the top scorer in this year's Europa League with four goals.
Lille get forward in numbers and Everton can't get the ball clear. Florent Balmont, from the edge of the box, nudges the ball left for Idrissa Gueye to fizz an effort narrowly wide of the post. Best attempt of a drab game so far.
Brendan Rodgers spoke extremely highly of Divock Origi when he signed him during the summer. Are we starting to see why? The Belgian causes problems down the right before having a drilled cross along the six-yard box hacked away. The ball is played back in and an audacious Ronny Rodelin (what a name!) overhead kick is cleared.
Samuel Eto’o plays a wonderful one-two with Steven Pienaar inside the Lille penalty area but just loses his footing as he bears down on the goalkeeper. Nice footwork... until the finish. Opportunity wasted.
Muhamed Besic is the first to enter the book for a studs-up challenge on the lively Sebastien Corchia. He does win the ball but also clips the opposing player's foot.
