Uh-oh! Carlos Tevez is up to his old tricks again! According to Corriere della Sera, the striker threatened to quit Juventus if they appointed his former boss Roberto Mancini as a replacement for Antonio Conte. Fortunately for Tevez (and the golf clubs of Argentina), Juve opted for Massimiliano Allegri.

League One club Barnsley have completed the signing of former Chelsea goalkeeper Ross Turnbull on a two-year deal. The 29-year-old made 19 appearances during 2009-13 for the Blues and spent last season at Doncaster.
Goal understands Frank Lampard is on the verge of finally joining New York City FC. The 36-year-old midfielder is a free agent after leaving Chelsea and is due to earn £90,000-a-week with the new MLS franchise. Their debut season will not begin until next year, though, so he looks likely to join David Villa in moving on loan to Melbourne City to maintain fitness.
Cardiff defender/midfielder/handyman Gary Medel looked on course for a move to Inter following the Welsh club's relegation to the Championship. However, according to the BBC, Galatasaray are also interested and Cardiff are hoping to receive around £11 million - the amount they paid for him last year - if they do sell him this summer.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has expressed an interest in Ron Vlaar as a replacement for Liverpool-bound defender Dejan Lovren. However, Ronald, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news. Vlaar ain’t moving. Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is quoted as saying by The Sun: "Ron is not only an Aston Villa player, he is our captain. He has one year remaining on his contract and he is staying here."
The transfer window rumour mill takes yet another twist. A reminder that, according to El Mercurio, Liverpool have joined Manchester United and Real Madrid in the race to sign midfielder Arturo Vidal from Juventus. The Chilean is available for £43 million but would command wages of £200,000-a-week.

Hull completed the permanent signing of Jake Livermore from Tottenham earlier in the summer, but the midfielder does not believe moving to a "so-called lesser club" will harm his chances of returning to the England squad. The 24-year-old has made just one appearance for his country - against Italy in 2012 - but cites Ron Vlaar and Samir Nasri as examples of players who have had differing success at international level despite being at opposite ends of the table.
Livermore: Hull move won't hinder England chances
League One side Crewe have confirmed that 19-year-old striker Max Clayton will remain on trial with Sunderland for tonight's pre-season friendly against Hartlepool. Clayton has turned down a new deal with Crewe but would command a transfer fee if the Black Cats opted to sign him due to his age. The youngster has scored 16 goals in 92 games so far in his career.

Inter Milan are looking for a new striker, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, and have reportedly set their sights on Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic, who only left Fiorentina for the Premier League last summer. If City wish to hold on to the Montenegro star, Walter Mazzarri's side could turn their attention to Javier Hernandez, of Manchester United, or Carlos Bacca.

Speaking of right-backs, here's another that Arsenal chased - but who now seems to be heading to Liverpool. Atletico Madrid's Javier Manquillo will join the Reds on a two-year loan deal, according to Marca, with Brendan Rodgers having the option to make the move permanent for around £4 million.
Fulham have signed Adil Chihi on a free transfer. The 26-year-old winger last played for Koln in Germany, and has agreed a one-year contract after a successful trial with the recently relegated side.
Arsenal could be set to turn their attention to Catania right-back Gino Peruzzi as they look to replace Bacary Sagna and the possibly outgoing-on-loan Carl Jenkinson, according to Sky Italy. The Gunners have reportedly looked at Peruzzi, an Argentinian, previously, but the Italian club snapped him up from Velez for £2.5 million last summer.
Speaking of Paris Saint-Germain, Spanish newspaper AS reports today that playmaker Javier Pastore is wanted by Atletico Madrid. PSG are reportedly in talks with the Liga champions over the sale of the Argentine.
