Right, that's it for Goal's January Transfer Window blog! Thanks for sticking with Goal and making it a truly memorable month, even if deadline day was rather quiet. Chelsea were busy adding four players, Manchester United got a star attacker in Juan Mata (but their problems continue), while Cardiff, Stoke, Crystal Palace and Fulham strengthened considerably to fight relegation.

Manchester City, Liverpool
and Arsenal failed to make permanent additions, but their form so far suggests massive changes weren't needed anyway. Stay with us as the season unfolds in its own weird, wonderful way, and report back here for what will inevitably be a huge summer of lies, deceit, gossip, subterfuge and rumours - that's what keeps us coming back, after all.

With players, fans and managers are already looking to this summer's transfer window, Ronald Koeman has confirmed he will step down as Feyenoord head coach at the end of the season.

"I've worked well working closely with the players, the staff and all the others here at the club. I've been enjoying myself here from day one. The decision not to sign [a new deal] is one that I've made purely by feeling," he told the club's official website.

Alan Pardew's Newcastle side suffered a nightmare 3-0 home defeat to Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby earlier today, and the Magpies boss revealed in his programme notes that it was impossible to keep Yohan Cabaye away from PSG once the Ligue 1 leaders made their move.

"PSG had been interested for some time but when they firmed up their interest and [Cabaye] made it abundantly clear to us that he was very keen to complete the move, we reluctantly agreed to let him go. I want to make it clear that there was no desire from our owner, any of the directors or myself to sell Yohan and if finances were the only factor in our consideration the transfer would never have happened."

"Crystal Palace is a great club and has a great fanbase. The way they play and the players they brought in suits me," Ince told TalkSport.

"Tony [Pulis] has come in and done a fantastic job and I'm just over the moon to be part of a team that is on the up at the moment."

Two Hull January signings have combined to put the Tigers 1-0 up against Tottenham - that's good business by Steve Bruce so far, then...

Tom Marshall-Bailey: "Steve Harper's long goal-kick is capitalised on by Long, who allowed the ball to roll to strike partner Nikica Jelavic before collecting the return from the Croatian and advancing on goal to arrow a finish beyond the hapless Hugo Lloris. It wasn't the best on the eye but the Hull fans won't care an iota, they lead 1-0."

According to early reports, Arsenal's new loan signing Kim Kallstrom could be out of action for two to three months after suffering an injury in training. We'll have more on that as and when we get it, but that would be a terrible blow to Arsene Wenger with the transfer window shutting last night.
