So a quick recap after a hectic day at Old Trafford. Goal understands Louis van Gaal has been sacked by the Red Devils although the club are yet to confirm the news officially.
The Dutch coach is said to have been "stunned" by the move with Jose Mourinho widely expected to take over. That's all for now but stay with Goal for all the very latest.
Louis van Gaal has been pictured leaving Carrington a short while ago after spending all day at the training ground. There is still no official word from Manchester United on the Dutch coach's future.
Jose Mourinho IS the right man for Manchester United, according to Ray Wilkins, who is adamant he will bring trophies to Old Trafford.
"He's the right person to carry them forward," he told Sky Sports News.
"If they were to go for Jose it would be a good choice.
"He will bring winning days back to Manchester United, that's a certainty."
One man who definitely did not move to Old Trafford is Renato Sanches who opted instead for Bayern Munich and the Portugal international has revealed the reasons behind his move.
"Manchester United made an offer. I think it was well known," the teenager told reporters at a promotional event. "But I had other offers as well."
"I chose Bayern Munich because it’s a great club. They have a 65,000 seater stadium and an atmosphere similar to Benfica. I’ll win titles."
