Two bottom feeders try to build some momentum as Philadelphia heads to the west coast to play Chivas USA in Saturday's late night MLS match. The over 2.5 looks very good.
After winning their second match of the season only a few weeks ago, Chivas USA dropped a 2-0 result at home last week to Portland to bring their dismal record to 2-6-4 (W-L-T), the second worst in Major League Soccer.
Tonight, the hosts are slated at 2.50 favourites over at William Hill in the outright market. However, they will need to dramatically improve their offensive output as they are tied for third-worst in goals scored with 13 from 12 matches and only two in their last four.
Of the 1x2 offerings, the draw selection looks attractive at 3.30.
Philadelphia nabbed a big 2-1 win at Sporting KC only a few weeks ago but blew that momentum away courtesy of shoddy defending which saw the Pennsylvanians allow nine goals in their past two games against New England and Los Angeles. They are 2-7-5 on the season and have allowed the most goals of any team in the league.
The visitors can be had at 2.80, but with a 1-5-2 away record they don't exude much confidence. Their saving grace is that they have never lost to Chivas in the team's six all-time meetings. The Union are 4-0-2 against the Goats, including sweeping last year's series.
Expect the over 2.5 to crack here, with odds of 1.91 available. Phildephia's last two games have generated a staggering 13 goals while each of its last three games hit this pick. Additionally, Chivas have allowed two or more goals at home in five of their six home matches this season, making this bet look very good.
