In what should be a cracker of a match, Leverkusen host Dortmund in a pivotal game which should produce a few goals.
Bayer Leverkusen see themselves four points behind Schalke for the third guaranteed Champions League spot and only one ahead of Wolfsburg for the qualification spot with three games left in the Bundesliga season.
They are in tough today against Borussia Dortmund who are the favourites in today's big evening encounter.
Jurgen Lopp's crew come in today with odds of 2.30 for the win in the outright sector with a win and both teams to score at 3.50. They have already secured a spot in the Champions League for next season but won't rest on that. Expect them to come out hard today.
A draw pick is at 3.30 but is not favourable given that Leverkusen are tied for the least amount of ties in the league with only 9.6% of their games ending in a stalemate.
A home victory is listed at a teasing 3.10. After a strong start that saw them battle Dortmund for second spot most of the season, Leverkusen have fallen flat during a run in February and March that saw them winless in six games. They have won two straight, a pair of games including last week's 4-1 away victory at Nurnberg.
With the champions league on the line they cannot afford to lose. They also beat Dortmund on the road 1-0 earlier this season.
The safe picks today surely have to come in the goals market.
I like Stefan Kiessling to notch one in front of his supporters and at 2.50 that isn't a bad pick at all. He stated that a fifth place finish would be a disaster for the club and expect him to lead by example. Coincidently, his 15 goals is good enough for fifth in the scoring charts.
A Robert Lewndowski goal is at evens (2.00) and with 18 on the campaign and three left games left before he aborts the Dortmund ship for greener pastures at Bayern, the Polish international will gun for the league scoring title as he is currently tied with future teammate Mario Mandzukic.
The total goals sector sees 1.50 for the over 2.5. It's not high but a 50% return is decent given that both teams are expected to produce today.
Dortmund have the second best offense in the league with 71 goals and have averaged two goals per away match while Leverkusen have averaged close to three goals per game.
The over 3.5 is at 2.30 and given the aforementioned stats, is not going to be a surprise if it cracks.
