Two teams battling relegation in the Portuguese face off on Friday as league bottom dwellers Belenenses host Pacos Ferreira at 4pm EST. The visitors have looked good as of late.
Belenenses have struggled mightily this season with only three wins from 24 league matches. They sit in dead last in the league and their opponents today currently hold the closest safety line to stay in the top flight for next year.
The hosts are 3-4-4 at home this year where 76% of their points have come from. They are winless in their last seven games but caused FC Porto some headcahes last week when they held the big name club to only a 1-0 win in front of their supporters at the Dragao.
Their top scorer, Miguel Rosa, has a miserbale three goals which is 25% of their total offensive production all season. Ouch.
The hosts are favoured at 2.40 to win here and keep their hopes of staying up alive.
A draw result would not shock anyone given what is at stake for both sides and is available at 3.00. The double draw result takes that up to a much better 4.33.
Pacos de Ferreira haven't done much better this year but have been on a surge as of late. They've won three of their last four matches including a 2-1 victory in their revious away match to 7th place Guimaraes.
A loss here would certainly cause them to push the panic button while a win would see them earn some much needed breathing space.
The under 2.5 is widely expected and as such is offered at a dismal 1.57. Given that Belenenses need to go out and win and that Ferreira have cracked the over 2.5 in four of their last five games the over at 2.30 could prove to be a hidden value pick of the bunch.
