Liverpool look to keep pace with Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal for the title, and will have to go through Southampton on Saturday to do it. A Daniel Sturridge goal looks nice.
Liverpool will look to keep the momentum going as the side looks for full points against a Southampton squad that came out victorious at home back in September.
The Reds won a sensational game last week that saw them emerge victorious with a 4-3 result against Swansea and have scored 13 goals in their previous four matches. They can be taken at 2.10 to win outright and a much better 3.50 should they win and both teams score.
The bet I really like today is for Daniel Sturridge to score. He has been on a tear as of late as well and is listed at 2.00 to score any time and 5.00 to score the first or last goal (separate bets).
He scored twice last week against Swansea and has six goals in his last six games, which now sees him in second place behind teammate Luis Suarez for the league goal scoring title.
A draw result is at 3.10 and should attract attention given that the Saints have the second most draws in the league with nine (33.3 percent).
The home win is at 3.75 and Southampton haven't lost at St. Mary's in the last five games. The side will be buoyed by history as it has beaten Liverpool in three of the last four battles. The Saints are looking to break their two game skid in all competitions but I don't expect full points for them.
Bookies and bettors alike are expecting goals today which is why the under 2.5 total goals is listed at a dismal 1.53. The over 3.5 is at 2.50 and Southampton home games have hit this mark in straight matches while Liverpool matches have cracked that in three of their last four and four of their last six.
