La Liga is back after the Christmas and holiday break with Espanyol going on the road with decent odds to beat a struggling Osasuna side that have a losing record at home.
Despite being nine places ahead of their hosts in the La Liga table, Espanyol find themselves only seven points ahead of their opponents after the winter break. A win Sunday would inch them closer towards an elusive European spot and also put them at an even .500.
The visitors are listed by British bookmaker William Hill with odds of 3.10 available in the outright sector. They are 2-4-2 on the road this season but have kept things very tight while away, with only a -2 goal difference and averaging one goal scored in those matches. They are looking to further build upon a three game unbeaten streak in all competitions and defeated Osasuna away last season 2-0.
A draw selection is listed at 3.10 as well. Keep in mind that these teams have not drawn each other in their last 13 matches against one another, a streak going way back to 2007.
The hosts are favoured today at 2.40 despite sitting in the relegation zone and winning only two of eight games at home this season. They will be motivated to move up the standings in their fight to stay in Spain's top flight and a win would see them move up to 14th in the table. They haven't been strong as of late and are winless in their last three.
The under 2.5 totals goals is expected given the stingy defences of both sides. Four of the last five matches between them have hit this mark, including the last three at Estadio El Sadar. But ignore the paltry 1.61 issued for that and look instead at both teams not to score at 1.91.
