The final day of World Cup qualifying in South America is here and Uruguay looks poised to take full points at home against a depleted and already qualified Argentina side.
Bitter rivals will meet tonight in Montevideo as Uruguay and Argentina get it on in a game that means nothing to the Argentineans and everything to Uruguay.
Argentina has simply been the class of South American qualifying this year. Finishing top of the group with an outstanding record of 9-1-5 (W-L-T) and with a +21 goal difference, Alejandro Sabella's squad has looked solid throughout the campaign and has already qualified for the World Cup.
However, tonight Argentina faces a Uruguay side desperate to not finish in the playoff spot that would see it have to play another pair of games against Jordan in order to qualify for Brazil 2014.
Argentina is also without a series of vital players, including Gonzalo Higuain and Lionel Messi due to injury, while Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero have been given a rest and are back in Europe with their respective clubs.
Take the Uruguay win at 2.10 over at William Hill for the outright result. Not only do the Uruguayans need a win here, but they need to make up a siginificant goal difference to at least go even with both Chile and Ecuador, and even then they need to hope that those two nations draw in their match. The double result (halftime/fulltime) is at 3.30.
A draw is listed at 3.40, while an Argentina win is just above that at 3.50.
I like Luis Suarez to deliver yet another goal tonight, and at 2.20 he offers surprisingly good value to add to his 10 goals in qualification, which is tied for second in all of FIFA World Cup qualifying.
