The Brazilian Campeonato rolls on with a pair of games tonight, including a juicy tilt between Sao Paulo and Atletico-PR -- which is offering solid odds to win on the road.
Sao Paulo has struggled mightily out of the gate this season. The Tricolor currently sit in second last in the Brazilian top flight with only nine points from 12 matches. Even worse, they are 1-5-0 from their six home games and have the second-worst goal production in the league with an average of only one goal per match.
Yet, William Hill have them as favourites with odds of 2.05 for tonight's match against Atletico-PR. The problem is they are without defensive midfieler Denilson, starting right back Douglas for suspension, and two centre backs due to injury. Sao Paulo has not won since the opening two weeks of the season, a winless run currently at 10 games.
The draw is sitting at 3.25 at the same firm, and with no ties in Sao Paulo's six home games, I still very much prefer the away win tonight.
The Atletico-PR win can be snagged at a nice 3.40. The club is in seventh in the league with a record of 5-3-5 (W-L-T) and are unbeaten in its last six games, which includes five wins, two of which came on the road. The squad will welcome back Bruno Silva into the fold, which will help in the midfield. The halftime/fulltime result is offered at a chunky 7.00, tempting stuff.
Another pick I really like is the over 2.5 here, which can be taken at 2.00. Sao Paulo's defense is badly hurting and Atletico has scored the most goals in the league with 23 from 13 games. The Furacão score the majority of those on the road, with an average of two goals per away game.
