A very tight race between second through fifth in the English Championship has emerged and with Watford sitting just one point ahead of Crystal Palace.
To win against Palace at home the Hornets are paying out evens (2.00). The halftime lead results in better odds as it moves up to 2.65.
The draw result is slated at 3.40. Keep in mind that Watford has only drawn once in its last 12 matches, with only four draws on the season in total which tied for the fourth lowest in the 24-team league.
Palace isn't being given much love here as it's currently being issued at 3.40. The reason is its away record as of late hasn't produced a win in its last seven while away from Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace's overall away mark this season is 5-6-4, and though that appears decent, the majority of its road points came during the first quarter of the season.
In the over/under markets we see that Watford matches have produced three or more goals in five of the last seven games and the total-goal season average while at Vicarage Road has produced close to three per game. Watford is the highest scoring team in the league with 58 goals in 30 games. The over 2.5 here is listed at 1.73, while the under is at 1.99 over at Uwin.com.
One bright spot for Crystal Palace this year has been the oustanding striking ability of Glenn Murray, who currently leads the league in scoring with 24 goals -- four more than anyone else. Palace has averaged just slightly above a goal per away match and if you're looking for someone to score for the visitors here it would be Murray. The odds on him scoring at anytime are 2.28.
For Watford, look at Matej Vydra -- who is fourth in league scoring with 19 goals. He can be taken at 4.40 to open up the scoring.
