thumbnail Hello,

The much anticipated Derby del Sole takes place on Sunday as the primetime match in Serie A, when AS Roma heads to Naples to face Edinson Cavani and SSC Napoli.

Separated by only two points in the Serie A table, Napoli will host Roma in what should be a highly entertaining match that kicks off at 2:45pm EST.

In the 131-game history between the clubs, Roma has had a slight edge with 44 wins, 41 losses and 46 draws. Needless to say, this is one of the closest rivalries in club football anywhere you will find.

After losing 2-1 and 3-2 to Inter Milan and Bologna a month ago, Napoli was able to finish off the 2012 calendar year on a winning note after winning away to Siena.

The hosts have a great home record of 6-1-2 (W-L-T) and have conceded the least amount of goals in Serie A after Juventus with 17 in 18 matches. They'd also be sitting pretty in second spot behind the Torino-based leaders had they not been deducted two points as a result of a match-fixing scandal which the club has appealed.

Despite that, a big reason they've done well this year is because of the dynamic scoring prowess of Edinson Cavani, who with 13 goals so far on the capmpaign is the league's second leading goal-scorer. The Napoli win can be taken at with odds of 2.07.

The draw result is sitting at 3.90, which definitely will have bettors worldwide thinking hard about. But take into consideration that Roma has yet to draw on the road this year and Napoli has only drawn twice in nine games.

Roma had the edge in last year's matches which saw a 2-2 thriller in Rome and a 3-1 victory away. The visitors have surged strong as of late, winning five of their last six league matches. Their away record hasn't been the best with five wins and four losses in total, and they will be without both Marquinhos and Rodrigo Taddei. The Roma win is nicely place at 3.25.

What Roma can look forward to is that it is the highest scoring team in Serie A with an astounding 42 goals in 18 matches. The high-octane side has also averaged over two goals per away match. Bookies know this and as such have made odds too low to recommend in the total over/under markets.

Why not take a look at a goal scorer bet instead?. Roma will look again to the services of forwards Pablo Osvaldo and Eric Lamela who have scored nine and 10 goals, respectively, which sees them both in the top six. To score at any point in the match, Osvaldo can be had at 2.62 and 2.68. Meanwhile Cavani is at 3.90 to score first or last (separate bets).
