La Liga is back in action this weekend and Malaga head over to La Coruna to face league bottom dwellers Deportivo. The visitors have decent odds to take full points in the match.
They are coming off a big 3-2 win over Real Madrid before the Christmas break which put Jose Mourincho's men out of contention for the league crown. The victory also extended their winning streak to three straight which also saw them score nine in that span. A Malaga victory here is paying a surprisingly decent 2.30 and with both leading goal-scorers Roque Santa Cruz and Javier Saviola - 5 goals each - in the lineup to start, it is a favourable bet to take.
The draw is currently slated at 3.40. Deportivo have a league best six draws on the campaign and have four of those at home, however, they have been outscored a miserable 8-0 in their last three matches.
For the home side to prevail here, Uwin.com is offering 3.15. But La Coruna have only two wins all year and more importantly they haven't won in their last eight games, dating back to November 4th. It would be a surprise to see them come out on top here.
Now when looking at the over/under odds it would normally be easy to take the under when Malaga play. They have conceded the least amount of goals in the league with 12 which is 5 less than any other team, a very impressive defensive stat. Their games on the road have also produced the lowest scoring totals in the league by far with an average of one measly goal being scored in their eight away games (5 for, 3 against).
So the under 2.5 at 1.83 sounds alright doesn't it? Sure, but the over 2.5 is a better value bet at 1.92, especially when you consider that Deportivo have the worst defence in the league, with 39 goals allowed in 17 matches this season. Their offense hasn't been that bad either with 21 scored, so with an average of 3.52 goals scored in matches with this team, I prefer the over in this match.
