The MLS Cup is hours away and with a rematch of last year's final on tap there is plenty of bets available for the match. Here is a taste of a few. This will be the eighth MLS title of the last 12 that will have been won by either the Dynamo (including when they were Earthquakes) or the Galaxy and it's only fitting that they meet once more in David Beckham and possibly Landon Donovan's final appearances with the club.
The early lines haven't shifted much as the L.A. Galaxy are still favoured at 1.87 over at Uwin.com. They will be playing in the comfort of their grounds at the Home Depot Center and will have the overwhelming majority of fan support rooting them on, especially with this being Beckham's last game in the league.
The Galaxy have a ton of offensive weapons at their disposal who are rising to the occasion as the playoffs draw to the end. One of the most consistent players on the team has been Donovan, who is without a doubt the team's greatest all-time player. He's been a clutch performer in the playoffs having notched 21 goals and 12 assists in 33 playoff appearances.
But the star for the Galaxy for these playoffs and for pretty much the last half of the regular season is Robbie Keane who notched 16 goals during the season and another five in the last four playoff games. Don't be shocked at all if he tears it up again in this game.
L.A. have beaten Houston five consecutive times at the Home Depot Center but fell to them on the road in their only encounter during this season by a 2-1 score. The halftime/fulltime result for the Galaxy sees odds of 2.90 while the draw/home result is slated for 4.80.
The draw result (end of 90 minutes) is listed right now 3.35 and expect that to change towards the 4:30pm EST kickoff time.
Though a lot of people always seem to brush off Houston at seemingly every stage of these playoffs they have proven themselves every time and though I can't see them hoisting the cup this time based of how well L.A. has been playing, they are being offered at a healthy 3.75. Will Bruin has been a stud for the squad with his four goals leading the charge to the cup.
Despite both teams having excellent goalkeepers who have posted some of the best all-time goals against averages in MLS playoff history I still very much like the over 2.5 at 1.94 and am heavily leaning toward the over 3.5 as well which is offered at 3.30. Reason is there are some big scorers firing on all cylinders playing in the final and with everything on the line there are legacies to be cemented, which often results in some epic scorelines.
