The 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying continues in Asia, where Iraq takes on Jordan while Oman host the mighty Japanese.

With a slew of friendly matches out there with much more enticing teams to watch, betting on friendly matches is risky due to roster and tactical changeups. I prefer the competitive matches during the midweek and with the Asian Football Confederation's qualifying matches for the World Cup going on, the stakes don't get any higher in world football.

Japan visits the brutally hot Middle East while sitting in the driver's seat right now in Group B. The Samurai Warriors are already five points clear of second place Australia, and a win in Oman would more or less guarantee them a spot in the 2014 World Cup. The money isn't right, but at a payout of 1.50 over at, it isn't tight either.

The home side is 1-2-1 (W-L-T) so far which has it seated in third spot, and a loss here would more or less hammer the first nail in its coffin. With a payout of 6.95, Oman is not seen as upset material. The draw result isn't as likely as the home win either - given Japan want to wrap up its spot as soon as possible - but if you feel Japan could slip up and take only a point away, then the 3.80 is for you.

The Japan correct score victories offer a little more juice with payouts of 4.85 and 5.35 to win 1-0 and 2-0, respectively. I don't anticipate Oman to score either, so look at Japan to win to nil as it has in all three of its matches against Middle Eastern opponents.

In the other match in Group B, Iraq takes on Jordan in a pivotal game for both sides.

Iraq will be the home team, however, this game will be played in Doha, so it is a neutral venue site that Jordan will be happy about.

The teams tied 1-1 in Jordan in their last match back in June. Iraq opened up the scoring in under 15 minutes before Jordan tied up before half.

Both teams are fighting for their lives, with Iraq the more desperate with only two points from four matches. Should the Iraqis lose there, their hopes for qualifying will be dashed. They lost games by only one goal each against both Japan and Australia - the group powers - so look for the Iraqis to come out with the win here. That can be had for just over evens (2.03) - not bad - at

The draw here is at 3.30 while Jordan - who have allowed twice as many goals than any other team with 10 conceded in 4 matches - are paying out 3.50.
